ya he is indeed and ive never seen anyone look like both parents so much in my life.

agreed! He is a truly terrible actor, though - almost as bad as Holly..... who has to be soap's worst actress.

So....the van crash is coming this week - who do you think will be left fighting for life (or even dying)? I have a feeling it'll be Jackson..... either him or Paddy, who I think will shortly, if he survives, be getting it on with Rhona. Do we have any idea? It won't be Aaron, as I'm sure in the snippets ad I've seen for it, he's seen running from the cash..... and anyway - Emmerdale won't lose its golden boy.

For me, Emmerdale is our number one soap right now. Superb storylines and on the whole, a stellar cast.

I feel like the only one who doesn't think its on top form right now. January was an absolutely spectacular month and its had its fair share of quality drama since then too but it feels to me like it's coasting at the minute. A lot of the stuff like the power struggle at Home Farm / Ryan's prison scenes is VERY repetetive, like they just re-write the same scene for each of the week's episodes.

Still characters like Hazel are providing a nice distraction. I just hope that this ridiculous under-utilisation of Charity ends soon because she's got so much potential but all she ever does is get a bit pissed in the Woolpack with Chas. Wasted.

Oh, and I think it'll be Paddy who

winds up fighting for his life after the van crash although I know that in a few weeks he and Marlon fall out over Rhona so clearly whoever it is survives and recovers. I reckon it'll be Paddy and it'll cause Rhona to leave Marlon.

Yes, Paddy fighting for his life could be the catalyst for the start of a relationship with Rhona, I was thinking that, too - but.... Jackson...I'm just not convinced that he's got staying power, or that Aaron would get so serious wiith the first fella he's had a bit with. I just wish Adam would dump his awful girlfriend, realise he's been gay all along and have a big old romp with Aaron. They sure would make a handsome couple
I thought someone dies in the hour special, and i was trying to work out who it would be between marlon and paddy. But reading the previous posts things make more sense and im assuming no major charactor dies.
Tonight's episode, bar some hammy acting from Holly and Jackson, was nothing short of magnificent.... Emmerdale deserves every single one of the soap awards this coming year (including Danny Miller as Best Actor - the award he was robbed of at the Soap Awards earlier this year)- it's head and shoulders above the rest, even when it's going through a lean patch, the writing and acting still beats Eastenders hands down.
SHIVERS tonight. In a way I'm glad there was no 'who'll be dead?' option for a cliffhanger.
Do we know if this is actually the end for... the person in the crash?

Gosh, loved tonight's episode and the ending was brilliant, I really was in shock.

Marlon and Paddy were hilarious...

Gay is good, Gay is right... the gayer the better

It was a great episode and as usual out standing performance from danny miller, wouldnt it be soap gold to have danny miller and lacey turner in the one scence having a huge storyline.

The only thing i will say against emmerdale last nite and its not even a real critisim is jacksons crying scenes were so weak in comparison to aaron.

ITVEmmerdale star Deena Payne is to leave the soap after 18 years in the role of Viv Hope, it has been announced.

The actress will bow out from the part within the next few months - though details of her final storyline are currently being kept closely under wraps.

Despite the secrecy surrounding Viv's forthcoming departure, show producers have confirmed that her exit will be at the heart of a "huge winter storyline".

In a statement, Payne commented: "Emmerdale has been such a gift to me for the past 18 years and I've taken every challenge with both hands and enjoyed the ride.

"I'm very proud of Viv and the impact she has had over the years. I will miss putting on her shoulder pads and high heels every morning, but I am very excited about what the future holds."

Emmerdale's series producer Gavin Blyth added: "Deena created one of Emmerdale's most iconic characters in Viv. She's been a fundamental part of the show over the years and a valued member of the cast for which we are very grateful.

"We do not take decisions about losing characters lightly, but it is also the nature of soap that characters must come and go from village life. Deena's exit will be both unmissable and moving."

Viv's most recent storyline has seen her split from husband Bob (Tony Audenshaw), though there have since been hints that the sharp-witted character is struggling to move on following the break-up.

I cant say im surprised, since she returned after her year out the writers seem to have struggled what to do with the charactor.

When I started watching last September I took an instant dislike to Viv but ever since the Nicola biting Cathy storyline we've begun to see a more vulnerable side to her and I have to say that I think she's one of the best characters in it now. It'll be a shame to see her go.
I am kind of really surprised by this - there are always certain characters on certain soaps where you really just don't ever see them being axed, no matter how little they get in the way of storylines - Pat or Ian in EE, any of the oldies in Corrie, Tony in Hollyoaks...and I have to say I always thought Viv was one of them aswell.
Do you think Viv will die? They say her exit will be 'moving'.... usually involves a death?
Im bored of innocent people been found guilty and ryan is the same, i had hoped they would have gone with not guilty, all the soaps do the same.
Actual shivers at the end of tonight's episode. Natasha is too great to leave. :(
It will be a loss to the show to see natasha and nathon go but in a way its th enature of such a storyline, faye and ryan though are just as good in different ways.
Ryan isn't good in any way. Terrible actor, boring character. Faye used to be interesting but she's boring as sin now too.

Fantastic episode tonight! I love that they make a proper effort on Bonfire night with half the village out and about. Great atmosphere.
