It seems we're now moving on from female piano ballads to MALE piano ballads! :o

I hope not - I prefer the former.

It looks like the XFF's are being reeled in *fast* - OM was at 48% yesterday, now he's at 70%...

Airplay will kick in later in the week for the X Factor Finalists - and next week too, as it's almost a necessity to play the #1. Although Olly Murs is catching up at the moment, the strength of CD sales will give X Factor Finalists a huge advantage - I reckon they'll get at least two weeks at the summit.

I hope Beyonce releases 'End of Time' at some point. It's actually the best song on 4. It's the 11th most played song on my iPod ever! :D

'We Found Love' is 6th with just a month of iPod play! :o

Love On Top  #21

Midnight Run  #30

You Da One  #35

Talk That Talk  #36

Amazing both are still top 40!

All I Want For Christmas  #40  Have to admit one of the best xmas songs, she's really created a classic xmas song!

Officially Christmas!

Do You Feel What I Feel? - JLS  #44

Up - James & Jessie  #46 hope it continues to climb!

Her 'Miss you Most (At Christmastime)' is always overshadowed by All I Want for Christmas but is equally amazing.

Christina Perri isn't doing very well with her follow up either, she isn't from the UK but I'm surprised after "Jar Of Hearts" and the twilight film that it hasn't got top 20 at least. it's one of the most haunting songs this year IMO.

A Thousand Years may be my ballad of the year but its had no real promotion besides the Twilight soundtrack. Same thing happened with Florence's stunning 'Heavy in Your Arms'

What annoys me about MC's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is the fact that she makes even a Christmas song about her longing for a lover.

And that is why I prefer Jackson 5's 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town'.

There's still nearly 4 weeks to go, it's a bit early to make that assumption :P Wizzard will definitely make it anyway and I think Slade, Band Aid, Shakin' Stevens and Wham! will all do it again as well.

65. Lay It On Me (feat. Big Sean) - Kelly Rowland

Really surprised this is doing so well :o I'm glad it is though, it's Kelly's best song in ages. Big Sean also deserves some UK success.

Sorry i take that back the thing which will save them this year anyway is the fact that xmas day is on the sunday so the xmas songs wont start declining until the saturday (24/12) morning. I always remember last xmas being disgusted to see the xmas songs falling so quickly on christmas eve morning, i was gutted but still thought they would have enough to have high enough peaks but most DID actual have big falls from the thursday midweek positions considering they only started falling on the friday evening.

Then i was even more disgusted to find they only played the top 20 in the chart that sunday and skipped most of the xmas songs anyway!! :(

Good to see climbs for Midnight Run... now at 30 and Up now at 49 - guessing due to Heart playing it

JLS could break top 40 soon with DYFWIF

JLS seem to be mixing things up this year - instead of a third single release after xmas and peaking around the brit awards time they are gaining airplay for this in the build up to xmas with a 2nd jan release!!

I still think Christina Perri is doing really well. She SCREAMED one hit wonder. She does seem to have stalled in the 30s for now though so she may still only end up with one big hit.

100. Let Me Clear My Throat (Old School Reunion Remix '96) - DJ Kool

Interesting. Anyone know why this is back? I've checked and it's 99p (and DJ Kool is still alive).

11. Paradise - Coldplay

Still holding up fantastically. I wonder how many top 20 weeks this can rack up despite being ineligible for its first 6 weeks on sale? This week will be its sixth.

Its amazing, especially for a 'rock' song in the top 40 nowadays - and i think it peaked top 20 on video play and no3 on radio airplay - think its sold around 200-250k now!!

I've got the strangest feeling that Moves Like Jagger will start going back up again it makes a great party Xmas track, especially at Xmas dos, it be funny if the track peaks at #1 in the new year with the iTunes gift cards promotion. Mind you that's just wishful thinking.

Try 241k. :)

142. N-Dubz - No Regrets (N-Dubz Version)

Hmm, Selena Gomez was 169 with "Hit the Lights" like 5mins ago, but it seems it's just dropped out of the top 200. :(

It has a video and some radio airplay as well (it's been R1 playlisted).

66. Fairytale of New York - Kirsty MacColl & The Pogues

I hope the top version of this cracks the top 40 soon.

I wish that stupid Kelly Rowland song would leave the top 10 aleady, it's so bad that it doesn't even deserve to be heard in public. I was hoping it would mirror the chart run of 'What A Feeling'.

I think it's safe to say it'll spend at least 3 weeks inside the T10 - with a chart run of (06-10-05). There aren't many big releases next week, so her performance on X Factor is likely to put her at a good advantage over the other songs in the top 10.

At this rate, Maroon 5 could well stick around the top 10 up until Christmas - possibly dropping out and re-entering when tracks like Jessie J, Avicii, Kelly Rowland and Drake all drop out.
