Survivor? As in Destiny's Child? Does X-Factor Motown mean 'songs sung by black people'?

I'd imagine they wanted it as their free choice song and Misha did as well :P I would like to imagine Kelly had the sense to know that her own song isn't Motown given that she should be able to safely say she's never been on Motown Records

Can anybody even tell me what the fuck MOTOWN is at all? Because I tried to look it up and I cba to dig deeper as all I get is that irritating record label. :(

It is the record label, basically any records released on Motown are classed as Motown but generally we just have Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, The Temptations and the like classed as it.

You make a good point. I certainly hope you're right anyway.

Just No wash your mouth out-Motown is the very foundation of modern Soul, Pop and RnB. It has influenced many of the biggest genres and its acts have never been bettered. From Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell, Marva Reeves and the Vandellas, Lionel Ritchie and the Commodores, The Miracles, The Temptations, Ashford & Simpson and Boyz ll Men.

Irritating meant that all I was getting is that label and thought Motown is a genre or something. No need to bury me in artist names, half of which DON'T EVEN RING A BELL.

BOYS ELEVEN MEN. HA.

Seriously though, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye - LEGENDS. If Drake came out in 1962 he would be on Motown.

:P Oops typing too fast in disbelief and fury. Even if you have not heard of those artists you must be familiar with songs like, I Heard it through the Grapevine, Superstition, Baby Love, End of the Road, Whats Going On, I Want You Back, Tears of a Clown and Dancing in the Streets.

If any of those were on Russian radio between 1997 and 2005 then yes, otherwise I doubt that :(

Well I'm pretty sure she's currently on Motown Records, so...

Oh  She actually is! I take no notice of record labels tbh :P

Looking forward too saturdays show :)

lol I read: 'Looking forward for Saturdays show'

Just a dream. :(

Misha to leave this week. She's always stealing song choices. <_<

Coldplay, Buble, JLS, One Direction and Leona for the "grand" finale :/

I'm really disappointed. I like Coldplay and Buble but they don't really get me that excited for a TV performance. JLS and One Direction, AGAIN, boring as hell.

A finale without at least one big female US superstar is a let down. I wanted Rihanna, Gaga, Britney or something equally exciting. Even good old Christina Aguilera got me more excited last year.

So Coldplay ARE doing it? :w00t:

The rest are lame as though.

I'd be surprised if Coldplay duet with an act, but you never know. Reading between the lines it seems they were asked to duet with an act, but didn't like the idea. Obviously they came out in the media earlier this week and said they'd rejected the offer. Obviously SyCo have come back with a better offer and someone in the management team or EMI has told them they should do it!

I've heard that Adele is a possibility

I love Coldplay & Leona but JLS and One Direction :puke2: :puke2:

After years of "we won't go on the show", it seems quite hypocritical of them to go there now ... Not that it's something to be ashamed of, but they could have avoided all the "this show is not our cup of tea" nonsense.

I'm sure they were going to do it in 2009. They wanted to duet with Stacey, but that never happened. I'd say it is more down to the fact their management will have told them to do it. Might aswell cash in on the Christmas sales infront of a huge audience. Obviously they'll be getting a ton of money aswell.
