November 30, 201113 yr It's mad watching that video of them being chosen for the band after seeing how sucessful they've become. Who would have thought. Sound of the Underground > everything else k bye Edited November 30, 201113 yr by JakeWild

November 30, 201113 yr I have spent the entire day doing nothing but listening to their entire discography. 8 hours well spent I'd say. If Nadine backs out of the reunion, I could basically replace her now. Actually made me realize how brilliant they were at times to be honest. Three amazing albums and one very good one. Let's just not talk about the debut. 'Biology' still their best. Oh and their b-sides are f***ing brilliant. Edited November 30, 201113 yr by Aled.
November 30, 201113 yr Still remember it like it was yesterday, can't believe I was still at high school when they formed :o Sound of the Underground should be THE worldwide template for all reality winner's coronation singles.
November 30, 201113 yr Feels very weird watching it again. Their last two albums are perfect pop albums. I can't wait for them to get back together.
December 1, 201113 yr They contributed so much to pop music for me, I definitely miss them so much. A new album every year used to make my winter time complete. For me they never managed a perfect album, there'd always be one or two tracks bringing it down but they almost managed it with WWTNS. 'No Good Advice' remains by far and away their best song for me.
December 1, 201113 yr Hard to believe its 9 years since they offically became a band, in one sense it seems they have been around alot longer as they went on to be so successful. Whats weird to think though could you imagine had they got pete waterman and done sacred heart instead of sound of the underground how things could have turned out???Thankfully it didnt and we got to hear many of the great pop songs they delivered to us over the years. Hopfully there is plenty more to come and i say that in huge hope and all my fingers and toes crossed!!
December 1, 201113 yr Its always weird watching the pop stars videos and seeing how different their relationships with each other were, Nadine and Kim were super close back then and it didn't look like Cheryl was too pleased when Kims was called (i guess she was expecting Javine to be called fourth), now Cheryl and Kim are bffs, and Nadine and Kim...not so much, and poor Sarah, it seemed like nobody was happy when she got in, but thank god she did.
December 1, 201113 yr They've been gone SO LONG that 9 years doesn't sound much at all - they achieved so much in such a short period of time. I wish they'd come back, I think my love for them is starting to wane. It was #AloudDay and I only managed to listen to about 10 of their songs (whilst breezing through Nicola's album hours earlier!!!)
December 1, 201113 yr Author It's funny how they spent quite a lot of airtime fussing over Javine not making it through, even having her perform again. Made the winning band members seem like an after thought for a few minutes. Nowadays with The X Factor... quick chat with the person with the least votes, then get them off the stage quickly! Here's the rest of the final, where Javine performs and then the name 'Girls Aloud' is revealed (7:25 onwards). sEGq2aMitFw
December 1, 201113 yr I had a brilliant AloudDay yesterday, listened to nothing but them. They better be back this time next year!
December 16, 201113 yr Author Today's date (16th) marks 9 years since the release of their debut single Sound of the Underground.
