True. I remember when I went to school after he properly came out, all the girls were like "Awwwwwwwwww. That's so sweet. I love him so much". :lol: Pretty much all they would talk about for like 6 months were Will Young and Gareth Gates tbh. :drama:

Well that's nice to hear. It's a pity in this day and age it even has to be mentioned but my experience of certain social network sites tells me not everyone is enlightned as we'd like to think :(

Well, to be fair, this was like 10 years ago remember (coincidentally, that Friends episode was also from 10 years ago, but this all seems like yesterday to me :(). But I would think things could've only improved from then though, with society (hopefully) getting more tolerant over time.

Yeah things have improved a lot but there's still a certain section of people out there living in the dark ages unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong I fancy Joe for example and he has quite a few young girl fans that I know too. I'm just meant teenagers can be mean about these things (believe me some of the comments I've seen are not nice) and when you're trying to sell a sexy image to a bunch of teenage girls it helps for them to think they are in with a chance however ridiculous that is.

 

Will Young appeals to a much more sophiscated (adult) audience who obviously just care about his talent which is how it should be. See my previous post about how talent should count above image :)

 

Exactly, these lot are naive but as a Joe fan you know the score. I've seen so much homophobia directed at Joe it's unreal. If Olly came out it would affect his sales, no question about it. As a popstar you're selling an image along with your music.
