Is there a particular reason why T-Pain has suddenly gone #1 on iTunes?

Not that I know of. T-Pain and Wiz Khalifa haven't performed it in the UK anywhere (they're too good to do that sort of thing :)), and the music video is really boring.

I guess people just love the song!

78. The Wanted - Warzone (This could officially miss the top 40 then :o )

Yeah, it's doing really poorly. I actually thought it had a chance of debuting straight in the top 40 when the album was released, since it had a week of radio airplay beforehand (a bit like You Da One), but it still hasn't got anywhere close yet.

Coldplay perform Charlie Brown on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon so it means that is what they will perform in X factor and the other show ( I can't remember which...) that they appear this week?

I guess it will be good for the album after Paradise got finally the top 10 position it's not a bed decision I guess.. CB is a masterpiece!

I think it's not fair cuz of the 10 weeks that the sales of "Paradise" were not counted... is at least 200K by the top 20 place and even higher...

~263k, as mentioned in the YTD T40 thread...

Must...resist...standard...flippant... answer... :)

Sure Red Solo Cup beats that on the "Utterly bizarre choice of song to cover" front?

To be honest, I think the only place I've ever heard Janelle Monae before now is on B.o.B's album.

Not really, Red Solo Cup was at least a minor hit in the USA already.

Oooh. Fantastic to see Wizzard so high :o first time it's (ever?) been ahead of 'Fairytale of New York' on itunes! Amazing.

It's not really ahead of The Pogues because they have two versions top 40 and a third version top 140. The only reason it's even ahead of all of FONY's versions is that it's 59p and FONY isn't :P

The Pogues are #12 combined :D Top 15 this week hopefully.

It's been #1 for a while now and it got there just like any new release does, just a bit slower (didn't reach #1 until Wednesday). There's no 'reason', it just got there because it's popular enough to have got there, like 90% of other #1s.

Paradise is #4? ^_^ :o :D :)  :cheer: :funky:  :w00t:  :yahoo:

Also loving how high the Christmas songs are now

Paradise #4 :o on Graham Norton tonight, should give it a helping hand, but they are performing Charlie Brown unless they are singing 2 tracks.

SO it's CB in the X factor again???

OK... it will help the album a lot I think.

Hugely, given I think more well-known songs sell themselves better than they sell their parent album.

Charlie Brown might get in the Top 40 next week if their appearance on the X Factor pays off for them :o

Even if they perform CB, it should give Paradise a little boost still.

But I don't get it, is it their 3rd or 4th single?

iTunes will probably have put them back up to 99p by then, or otherwise the initial effect of the 59p boost will have somewhat died down. Obviously won't affect The Pogues, they don't need a price reduction to do well :D

Wizzard top 20 and Slade top 25 :cheer: Top version of Fairytale Of New York also back in the top 30 (again despite still being 99p)!

I seriously hope Mariah stalls at #11 now. If it gets top 10 that'll be another boost for it - and who knows, maybe Reggie's seemingly ridiculously optimistic prediction of it being top 5 by Christmas could sadly come true :(

I remember thinking on Sunday when Reggie told us to expect Christmas songs to come flooding in this week, 'no they won't Reggie, there were only 2 last year, we're hardly going to get more this year'. His stupidity has been cancelled out by this whole 59p affair.

If they put the prices up to 99p again and the majority drop out before xmas week it will be ridiculous, they should be 59p til xmas day!

I doubt it will sell peanuts, myself... ;)

Buble performed the 2 songs at 82 & 100 on his radio 1 live lounge stint yesterday-thats why they are doing especially well!!

3rd, because it's better than "Princess of China" which they're assuming they can just drop whenever the campaign is flagging a bit to give the album a boost.

671. Somebody That I Used To Know (Tribute to Gotye & Kimbra) Performed By Cover Nation - Cover Nation

It's gonna be huge, isn't it?

I do hope so :D Good to see.

I spoke too soon about the Xmas songs looking to have peaked - they've all climbed a bit more now. Which means Mariah could still go top 10 :( AIWFCIY would actually be an improvement over Who You Are (which is now down to #10) so it's not all bad but they're both pretty atrocious.

Lloyd back up to #4, so yup, it was another blip that he fell to #5. He must have a very unusual sales pattern.

Avicii back up to #6 :D Could still have a decently long top 10 run then, there's not any more big releases this year except the XF winner.
