November 28, 201311 yr I agree. 4Minute is a standout this year, and 2013 is probably one of the best years of their careers. Among the boy groups, VIXX is a standout. I feel that T-ara should release their second full album next year. All these mini-albums and their subsequent repackages seem very messy for me, but I'm sure their company doesn't care about those things as long as they get the money going.
November 28, 201311 yr 4Minute were the strongest girl group for me this year too, I'm glad they finally got proper recognition for how good they are. I literally can't wait for a comeback from them and on a sort of related note, I'm obsessing over 'Now' by Trouble Maker right now. No one has mentioned f(x) though? Their song is actually my favourite k-pop song of the year, I thought it was amazing, they definitely need more comebacks, I thought they would finally blow up this year, but with just the one single and massive gaps between comebacks it's always going to be hard for them! I thought Girls' Generation were ok this year, the song to begin with was just WTF but once you got used to it it was better, unpopular opinion alert though.... I have always thought they were over-rated, they're good but not as much as their hype imo. For boybands it was all about Teen Top, SHINee & 100% for me, also loved Super Junior M back in January, I wish they'd get more singles. Personally, I can't wait for 2014 though as there's some big comebacks on their way! I know 2013 isn't over but I'd for me so far: Best Girlband 01. 4 Minute 02. f(x) Best Boyband 01. Teen Top 02. SHINee Biggest disappointments 01. 2NE1 02. Exo (I know they were huge, but didn't think they were a patch on their debut). Edited November 28, 201311 yr by Electro Paradise
December 13, 201311 yr Author EXO is absolutely HUGE ever since they released Growl and to a lesser extent, Wolf. Baffling but I wish B.A.P would get half their success in terms of digital sales. :( 2013 for me is: GIRL GROUPS: 01 T-ara 02 Girls' Generation 03 Girl's Day (Expectation is WONDERFUL and now stands as my most played K-Pop song ever!) BOY GROUPS: 01 B.A.P (No change, Rain Sound and One Shot is wonderful! That said, Hurricane, Badman and Coffee Shop was a step back sadly but nevertheless excellent still!) 02 VIXX (Oh YES I am loving their unique gothic and dark concept) 03 Teen Top (Miss Right and Rocking are absolute standouts)
December 13, 201311 yr One shot by B.A.P was flawless, I wasn't really bothered about anything else they've done this year, but that song and video alone are just incredible! I wish 2014 would hurry though for all the big comebacks, there's not been anything that's really caught my eye lately. :(
December 14, 201311 yr The T-ara comeback stages for Do You Know Me has been their best since a very long time. Congratulations to them.
December 15, 201311 yr Author T-ara's new song is absolutely horrible. Ever since YaYaYa / Why Are You Being Like This has been released, none of their lead singles have failed me apart from their new one. Why Are You Being Like This -> YaYaYa -> Roly-Poly -> Cry Cry -> Lovey Dovey -> Day By Day -> Sexy Love -> Number 9 -> .... let's pretend the next one didn't happen at all.
December 22, 201311 yr Before the year ends, I'd like to remind everyone of the gender-breaking hit of 2013. ObYM7G5AJMw
December 22, 201311 yr Author Shinhwa is absolutely rubbish. I'd only give them credit for being a legendary K-Pop idol act but put that aside, their music is a dullfest.
December 22, 201311 yr It's been a good year for Sistar, 4Minute, Girl's Day and most especially CRAYON POP. I'm rooting for more 4Minute slayage in 2014. It's also a good year for After School... in Japan! Their Japanese singles have been stellar so far post-Kahi. The newest single, "Shh" is particularly sleek. I've that Kaeun and E-Young are getting so much voal time and screen time than the senior members. jzT-QIlhqY0
December 22, 201311 yr The first line up for 2013 sbs Gayo Daejun bas been announced. Lee Seung Chul J.Y. Park Lee Hyori Dynamic Duo Baechigi Brown Eyed Girls G-Dragon Taeyang K.Will KARA Girls' Generation SHINee 2PM 2NE1 f(x) 4minute SECRET B2ST Rainbow CNBLUE ZE:A miss A Girl's Day Nine Muses A Pink EXO 2nd Line up to be announced next week I believe. Not quite sure what this is, but a lor of my favourites artists are there so I'm excited.
December 23, 201311 yr Author I love the end of year shows and performances because a lot of artists whom I adore perform. With regards to why Kaeun getting so much vocal time, it could be because she's fluent in Japanese as she studied in Japan for numerous years while she was young.
December 23, 201311 yr Will T-ara perform Jeon Won Diary with Dani? Please let it happen because it will be a mess.
December 25, 201311 yr Author Most likely T-ara will perform their latest hit along with Number 9 and not Jeon Won Diary.
January 1, 201411 yr SM always starts the year right! I would also love to share the BETTER version of Let It Go. BdNr6U3kamM
January 3, 201411 yr Author That song is INCREDIBLE and from Hyorin herself as well with such a divine voice! And another kick start to 2014 is the AMAZING Girl's Day with their new track also titled "Something". My word, much better than Female President and incredibly infectious along with that dance.. *.* JO7qQ7peKeM
January 10, 201411 yr Author B.B.B is growing on me but what a shame it's being shadowed by Girl's Day's Something instead. The dance is certainly catchy. Seems like 2014 is the new trend for provocative clothed/dances in K-Pop so far...
January 18, 201411 yr Author The sexy trend continues with AOA releasing "Mini Skirt" and oh my *.*, it seems K-Pop this year will be much better than 2013 from what I've heard so far! q6f-LLM1H6U
January 19, 201411 yr All the girl groups releases so far have basically merged into one, the lack of originality is quite starling. Girls Day have by far been the best though, but they were lucky to get in there first.
