The BoA seal of approval started with Lew, blame him! :o

HyunA is indeed amazing and so is f(x) (the latter was my other potential last month with Orange Caramel's Catallena winning soooo) but all the songs in the previous thread are 1111111/10 material anyways. No regrets if I send any of them! ^_^

An update containing 2 of the hottest girl groups out here having their comebacks!

KARA - Mamma Mia

(First of all, I'm not entirely sure I'm feeling the line-up change with 2 members having left and replaced with this new girl who was elected to the group via public votes. She has literally one line in the song and I'm not sure whether she fits into the group at all! Goo Hara as usual is being an evil witch throughout the video. BACK TO THE SONG...it can be described as a hybrid between their past hits of "STEP" and "Pandora" mixed with a jazzy instrumental!)

Orange Caramel - My Copycat

(Oh lord where do I start? They certainly never disappoint and my, what a VIDEO. A fun, quirky and unique attempt by them once again having featuring the classic Where's Wally? theme in the end of the video. The song itself is essentially a clone of their previous song "Lipstick" but added on with a bit more saxophone touch to it than usual. 111111111/10)

LOL. Lipstick version 2 indeed (except with added 2014 sax *.* as well). Not an inch of originality and it knows it. Still amazing like every one of theirs however.

Video's alright, it's not Catallena, but then, what really is?

Incoming, one of the BEST TRACKS OF THE YEAR and 111111/10 material!

T-ara - Sugar Free

(T-ara, deemed "T-error" in South Korea, never disappoints with their lead material do they? From Bo Peep Bo Peep -> I Go Crazy Because Of You -> Yayaya -> Roly-Poly -> Cry Cry -> Lovey Dovey -> Day By Day -> Sexy Love -> Number 9 -> Do You Know Me? (okay this one sucked) -> Sugar Free. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING RUN OF SONGS THEY RELEASED. Moving onto the song, it can be described as EDM meets K-Pop girls with a hint of Martin Garrix-influenced style in the beginning but without sounding too EDM, also brings in the usual K-Pop hooks within the chorus. YASSSSS GET IT GIRLS!)

*WARNING* MIGHT GIVE SEIZURES

I never really followed them but it was so tragic to hear about EunB and Rise from Ladies' Code :(

And that T-Ara song is *.*

  • Author

Oh yes that Ladies' Code is terrible indeed. Two members dying (and on top with Simone of G.R.L. dying in the same week as them is just..ugh). One member is currently undergoing surgery which will take apparently 6 months (!!!).

YESSS STAN FOR MY GIRLS T-ARA LIAM!! *.*

  • Author

People actually know Ladies' Code here? :o

Chris repent. Sugar Free is amazing and I will get you having to stan it.

Girls' Generation member Jessica leaves the group, accuses the company and its fellow members of kicking her out while the other side reports otherwise

So yesterday for no reason, on Girls' Generation member, Jessica's weibo account, she posted the following:

"I was excited about our upcoming fan events only to shockingly be informed by my company and 8 others that as of today, I'm no longer a member. I'm devastated - my priority and love is to serve as a member of GG, but for no justifiable reason, I am being forced out"
With a further post of this as a reply to one of Girls' Generation's fan:

You guys are very special people who I love dearly, therefore you deserve to hear the truth from me. I'm deeply saddened and hurt by those who I trusted and hope that you don't have to ever experience this kind of pain

There has been reports of her seeing a law firm..

Jessica herself went to see attorney Lim Sang Hyuk of the lawfirm Sejong in Myeongdong... In most cases, celebrities usually call to consult about their matters first, so Jessica showing up in person is out of the ordinary. It seems likely that she had consulted a specialized lawyer
Leading to SM Entertainment (their company) to issue the following:

"Hello. This is SM Entertainment.

We are offering our position on the words posted on Jessica's Weibo today.

This coming spring, due to her personal situation, she notified us she will halt her team promotions with the release of one [more] album.

Despite Jessica's sudden notice, the agency and the Girls' Generation members tried our best and tried to figure out a way that Girls' Generation's activities can continue in the best possible direction.

However, in the midst of insufficient negotiations regarding conflicts of differences in priorities and interest, Jessica started her fashion business. Due to this, despite ongoing talks, it has come to a point where the team could not be maintained.

Thus, the agency had no choice but to pull up Girls' Generation's activities as 8 members earlier than planned, and in the midst of while working out when to announce this, Jessica had posted her words early this morning.

From here on, our agency will continue to support and manage the 8-member Girls' Generation and Jessica's individual activities."

Girls' Generation were supposed to have a fan meeting on the 29th September in China (which did occur but...)

I AM f***ING DONE WITH SM ENTERTAINMENT. FIRST THEY RUIN TVXQ (the BIGGEST boy band of K-Pop back in around 2005-2008 period), and THEN the Super Junior 1 member fiasco, and THEN the sudden halt of f(x) activities, and THEN a Chinese member of the new boy band EXO (which is currently the biggest boy band of K-Pop as of present), and NOW GIRLS' GENERATION.

WELL f*** YOU. I AM DONE WITH THIS. I AM DONE WITH K-POP. GO AWAY!

Why does ALL my favourites of the Korean music scene have to end like this? Firstly T-ara, and then Girls' Generation? WHY?!

Confirmed that Jessica was ousted out by the company and her 8 members (if what she's saying is true)

"Hello. This is Jessica.

I was given a notice of departure from Girls' Generation by the agency on September 29, and I cannot hide my shocked and upset heart about this, so I'm here to reveal my position.

I have always put Girls' Generation's activities before my business or personal life as a member of Girls' Generation. However, despite my efforts for the team, I have been asked to leave the team by the agency.

While I was planning my business that I've had a lot of interest in since before, I had sufficiently consulted SM as well as the members about my preparation many times and asked for their understanding.

Up until the beginning of August when I was launching 'BLANC', I had received agreement and permission from SM, and congratulations from the members as well.

However, in early September, after only a month since the launching, the members suddenly changed their position and held a meeting, and told me to either quit my business or leave Girls' Generation without any justifiable reason.

I explained that I had already received permission from the agency, that I had never neglected Girls' Generation's activities, and that I could not suddenly halt my business due to my contract with my business partner after a month.

Ultimately, I pleaded that it was unjust for me to have to make a choice. Becoming a Girls' Generation member was the best thing in my life, and I had never thought about quitting.

Shocked about this, I had met with the agency CEO on September 16 to convey my position, and once again confirmed their permission for carrying out my business.

However, on September 29, I was given a one-sided notice asking me to leave Girls' Generation. Due to this, I was also unable to attend the fan meeting in China on September 30, and I have also been excluded from following Girls' Generation activities.

I have received great pain and cannot hide my sadness that I was asked by the agency and fellow members, whom I've spent 15 years with putting in all my passion and effort, to leave Girls' Generation just because of the reason that I'm starting a business.

I also want to apologize for causing concern to all the fans. Please understand that this situation is not at all what I had wanted, and that I've always treasured Girls' Generation, and that I will continue to do so. Thank you for always supporting and loving me.

Sincerely,

Jessica

I wasn't expecting this, from an outside point of view GG seemed like SMs priority and like they were an extremely tight group. I feel extremely bad about it for her. I understand that her starting a business will mean less time for all the activities, but why not give her the benefit of the doubt, if she ends up missing activities because of business then they can ask her to leave as it's harming the group, fans would be more understanding if they could see the group was being harmed too, I can't believe they're kicking her out for this. I'm kind of in shock!

2014 has been a bad year for K-Pop. First of all, Kris from EXO filed a lawsuit, Sulli of f(x) basically has left the group unofficially and then Jessica from Girls' Generation being ousted out, followed by Luhan from EXO once again filing another lawsuit (with apparent rumour that all of the Chinese members are also following) then Lee Joon & Thunder from MBLAQ leaving the group and NOW, there's rumours that Minzy from 2NE1 'leaving' as well. SERIOUSLY?!
Anyone else heard about CL of 2NE1 releasing an English single early next year? :o Kind of hoping she fails for the sake of the band - I've been excited for 2NE1 to make an English album but a solo member of the group isn't what I had in mind.
  • Author
Yes I have, she's due to have her English debut with the help of Scooter (Ariana, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, etc.). I really hope she fails and instead the entire group get to debut here instead of just the overrated CL.
The entire group were making an English album, I don't know why they'd abandon that for just CL herself. I mean admittedly she has by far the most potential out of any one member but they're a lot stronger as a group than solo.

I'm still shocked about Jessica's departure from SNSD. Like, byeeeee. She was their best member.
