After School's Flashback MV released!

 

 

The song is a grower but it's very underwhelming. The vocals are very weak in this song but the production is AMAZING. Without the video it's hard to get into the song imo.

It's quite similar to Paparazzi in some way, big production but not so big melody. But it's still pretty great. It's not the same without Bekah though tbh :(

I am missing Kahi's presence more and more. She was VITAL in After School. Now instead of getting fierce rappings from Bekah and Kahi we get these cute ones from Lizzy and Nana :mellow: .

 

Girls' Generation's song was the same in that its production was good but lacked quite some melody. However on Paparazzi they at least had some power vocals in the song whereas Flashback had none but one near the end when Raina sang. Shame :(

Asia has different culture to the west. Basically the male fashion there is totally different to the west and those from the east dressing like that in the west would be called "gay" anytime tbh.

I cannot stand their Japanese performances. So much backup music that I need MR to see what their vocals were like. Probably understandable as Japanese isn't their fluent language but nevertheless still....

2NE1 releases "I Love You", audio below:

 

I feel a bit out of place coming in here but I Love You is rather good isn't it. It's not as instant as I Am The Best or Scream for me but it starts off as a pleasant listen and grows. Very "random European summer hit from Romania" in parts, and that's a good thing for me.

I think it's very underwhelming considering there was quite a bit of hype from us K-Pop fandom for it. I hope their next song to be revealed is going to be better.

Really really like I Love You, it's Song Of The Day on Popjustice as well :D

Anyway I really like I Love You, I know what you mean about it being European sounding, it seems clear that they're thinking of the international audience withi this one, and in a less obvious way than Girls' Generation's The Boys.

It's a grower for me too, can't stop playing it now :wub: I prefer it to Scream but it will probably never best I Am The Best which is probably my favourite foreign language track ever, it's certainly my favourite K-Pop track.

FINALLY IU! Tbh it doesn't sound that good. But at least it's happening. I don't see it as as big a hit in Japan as Good Day though (which made #2). Roll on Wonder Girls' Nobody ~Anata Shika Mienai~

 

As for I Love You, it was pretty instant but I think I might get over it quickly :(

Grown on me so much, flawless. It flows much better in Korean but now at least I have another version to obsess over as well :P The English version is gonna KILL ME :w00t:

The Japanese edition is AMAZING but not as good as Korean. Dara's parts is very cringe worthy.

 

Also the biggest news and trending worldwide (as I'm sure the K-Pop fans have heard of) is Hwayoung (the rapper) being bullied in T-ARA and thus eventually KICKED OUT.

 

Even the likes of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and several K-Pop stars are siding with Hwayoung and I heard that Inkigayo's Personal Director (a music show in Korea) are blacklisting T-ara from promoting there?

 

As for myself, if they put good music i'll still follow them but me looning for them are OVER. I HATE bullies.

Yeah I read about that, I've always really liked T-ARA so it really disappointed me that the other members had to bully Hawyoung out of the group. In a way I hope it goes against them but if the music is good they should still do well.

 

Attitudes can really change your perception of someone, obviously just like I will for any other celebrity I dislike (e.g., a more extreme example but Chris Brown) - if they put out good music I will still like it but I won't like them personally.
