Posted March 21, 200619 yr Music news - Virgin.net Radiohead confirm UK shows Radiohead have announced details of a string of UK dates, including six small club gigs and a Scottish stadium show. The band are planning to debut tracks from their forthcoming album at a series of small shows in Blackpool, Wolverhampton and London in May. The band will then embark on some larger outdoor gigs at the International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh as well as the previously confirmed V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire in August. The group have also hinted that one of their new songs could be released as a download-only single to coincide with the tour. The band said in a statement: "We're excited to be touring again, especially to play new songs to an audience. For the first time, we have no contract or release deadline to fulfil - it's both liberating and terrifying. "To keep things more fun and spontaneous, we will be playing new songs that are work in progress. We will also be releasing music to download when we are excited about it, rather than wait twelve months for a full blown album release. Music's not just about all-time greats - it's also a document of its time, and we want to be able to put out a song when it feels right." The tour calls at: Blackpool Empress Ballroom (May 12, 13), Wolverhampton Civic (15, 16), London Hammersmith Apollo (18,19), V Festival Chelmsford (August 19), V Festival Staffordshire (20), Edinburgh Meadowbank Stadium (22). Support on the club tour comes from Willy Mason and tickets go on sale on March 25. A pre-sale will take place on the band's official website on March 22. Beck will support the group at the Edinburgh show. Tickets cost £32.50 and also go on sale on March 25. Are any of you excited by the return of Radiohead & will any of you be getting tickets to see them? Or do you think Radiohead have gone downhill since their OK Computer album?
March 21, 200619 yr I won't be bothering to see them on this tour... don't think I could get there anyway. But I've already got my V Festival ticket so it's all good.
