Words cannot describe how excited I am for these. The LOTR trilogy will forever be my Top 3 films of all time, sure these two will round off the top 5. I really need to finish reading the Book, I got about half way and then forgot about it.

That trailer is looking epic. All the dwarves one after the other. SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously can't wait for this, the LOTR trilogy is my favourite film ever. I think I've watched it about er... 8 times.

This looks pretty much amazing, I reckon its going to be a box office hit.

Probably more than that tbh. And the extended versions, got to be the extended versions. It's one of the few movies that I really enjoy sitting the whole way through.

I like be able to say I can quote it all, which I can, nearly.

And The Hobbit in two parts, with loads of stuff that wasn't in the books? SQUEEEE!!! #Tolkiennerd

Yes got to be extended eds. Although all 3 at once equalling about 12 hours. It can tire you out, but its obviously worth it

I really need to go back to the LOTR films. Miranda Otto (Eowyn) was a major crush of mine when I was younger.

It's aged brilliantly imo, although I'm a tad bias. I really hope they re-release all 3 in 3D after the 2nd Hobbit film comes out!

I agree. My Dad bought the extended versions on Blu Ray  and it looks amazing.

i doubt it'll do much during the 2013 oscars as opposed to the 2014 ones though (as the original trio barely won anything till the third one if memory serves me correct, as people saw the third one as representing the entire trilogy)

I thought Fellowship won Best Picture?

But either way in 2013 or 2014 this will clean up the Oscars. It looks beautifully shot. The Lord of Rings trilogy are now considered film classics pretty much, and everything I've seen so far about the next two films look like they're being handled excellently. More excited for The Hobbit than The Dark Knight rises.

Nope, ROTK was the only one that won Best Picture (or any major Oscar in fact).

Saw it this afternoon, pretty awesome, the setting was just perfect, with a great cast of characters, one of the best movies of the year without a doubt thoroughly enjoyed it, Peter Jackson has really put this together well, great effects, the ending was just perfect, without giving too much away, roll on next Christmas. For me Gollum stole the show. Precious. :D
I'm a huge lotr fan, and this was so true to the book. Really brought it to life, with humour. It was a major letdown in comparison to the LOTR trilogy but then what wouldn't be!?!?! Excited for the follow ups now!
Absolutely loved it, been waiting for almost a decade and it didn't let me down, yes it would be virtually impossible to beat the LOTR trilogy but it was still fantastic, I also loved the 48 fps, although at times it made your eyes a bit funny but it felt as if I was in Middle Earth. Gollum scenes were amazing too! I'd probably give it a 9/10 really can't wait for the 2nd and 3rd part, hoping like LOTR the worst one (not that it was bad in any way) was first so the only way is up.
