are you joking about it why does no body have sympathy for ones with serious medical conditions like hand cramp if i could not walk you would all feel sorry for me but because i have hand cramp everybody has to make a joke about it

Maybe you have it cus you type to much. But sorry about your medical condition. Maybe weed will loosen you up.

And as for the Pop music thing goes. I'll give you my two cents. Pop music has come a long way. The actual engineering behind the music has changed. IF you look up "The loud war" on google and read about the engineering, the quality of music is not the same. That's why all the MJ albums sound so soft and smooth while things this days are as loud as possible. As for the artists. 98% of them don't write their lyrics. It's done by the labels or ghost writers. As for the production of the songs, 98% of them are written by someone else. So Rihanna, Justing Bieb, Brittany, Kelly Clark, Miley, Etc. Etc. don't write their own material. Their just and image. An advertisement. Almost how coca cola is. You see the can, but you don't see what's behind it, or who is behind it. Cut the sh*t. Music has been dumbed down dramatically since the 80's and early 90's. I'm not saying all of it is horrible. BUT for the most part a lot of the music sounds repeated, if not the same.

You hear a Jason Derulo song, or Flo Rida song, Rihanna, Brittany, Kesha (who I hate even worse) their music they keep pumping out constantly sounds the same. Uughh Then they go to perform live, AND IT SOUNDS HORRIBLE!

Well I'm sure they are all experts on the subject so I'll just go and shoot myself in the head now.

Well anyway, IMHO, sometimes the charts will coincide with your personal taste and sometimes they won't. For me the best years music wise were 1988-1990, 1996-2000, and I actually think 2011 has been one of the better years since that point, but everyone can take something they like from the charts in any year.

It's certainly true that the charts used to be far more "tribal" say in the 80s or in the 90s when bands openly competed about where they got in the charts which made it interesting before it became "uncool" to bother about chart positions so a lot of the overt competitiveness has gone out of the charts. I certainly agree that the charts are full of a lot of stuff that is "Similar" but then that criticism has been levelled at them since the late 80s so it's nothing new.

Oh, what a great sample size.

Ill actually ask everyone on my facebook nd twitter as well then and i have loads of friends and followers on it

is there a poll on this forum to prove him wrong?

Just because they say it on buzzjack does not prove you right as most people love pop on buzzjack not rock

I can't tell if this is all one big joke or not. But ramseywhatever I strongly suggest you listen to the song "Booty Wave". It will totally change your (factually wrong) opinion on pop as it is factually a good song and you better not dare to disagree with me or I will go all around my neighbourhood and ask everyone their opinion. And their opinion will surely be the right one.

What is this "tone deaf" balony? X factor produces both good and bad but there have been some very good vocalists on there (Leona, Joe, Shayne, Alexandra to name but 4) Laura White and Ruth Lorenzo were also good singers, admittedly not successful. Even some that are not my thing (Matt,Rebecca for example) can sing. Bit silly to lump them all together IMHO.

who said anything about them being tone deaf? apparently their either 'tone death' or 'done deaf'

You know what's due for a comeback in pop? The Timbaland sound. I need that again. 2005-07 was really a great time.

I think XF has slowly gone downhill but there has been some good talent come from it. I think the acts should be judged on their own merits not because they came from the show.

Oh and someone mentioned Justin Timberlake earlier. He needs to come back!

Actual LOL. I about cried with laughter, no lie.

Are you actually shitting me? Hand cramp is not a medical condition, never mind a serious one. Fucking hell. Cramp is caused by over use of the muscle, potassium deficiencies and a lack of electrolytes (Not a high enough salt intake). When I was a competitive swimmer cramp was something that was a common side effect of the incredibly hard training (swimmers just don't get enough recognition for the serious amounts of training they do) and swimmers are always taught exactly how to avoid it. You stretch the muscle, ensure you take on adequate salt levels to replenish what you loose through sweat (We were told to add a bit of salt to the diluting juice in our water bottles), drink plenty of water and ensure that you don't over work the muscle. As a result I rarely got cramp. A cramp by definition is a pain caused by muscles contracting or over-shortening. IT IS NOT NOW, NEVER HAS BEEN, OR NEVER WILL BE A MEDICAL CONDITION. That is a fact. If your GP told you it was a serious medical condition, he was either being extremely sarcastic and you were too thick to understand the sarcasm or he doesn't actually have a medical degree.

Anyway. The topic at hand.

Pop music is such a far reaching a dynamic genre it's completely moronic to generalise it. I personally prefer the more static sub-genre of Scandipop (Although the emergence of Nu-Schlager is rather exciting tbh) which is drastically different from when Abba were leading the way. Most of Sweden's pop music is still heavily influenced by those legends.

I'm 22 so I don't remember much from the very start of the 90's but I wouldn't say that the music that I do remember from about 94 onwards is 'better'. I think it's not really comparable. Different sub-genres were more prominent, there was different methods of production popular back then and a whole host of other factors that have all changed. Music is such an organic, progressive and personal thing I don't really think you can compare to wildly different time periods at all.

 well yes but I like to spell things correctly (most of the time) :)
