Both America and Australia are still deeply racist. It's not just as blatant or as condoned by the governments.

I thought that the actress that played Rue was superb. I'd actually like to see her go onto other roles when she's older. As far as I am concerned casting should be done like it was on Grey's Anatomy where a character was rewritten from a White woman to an African-American woman because the actress who auditioned was head and shoulders above the rest and really brought the character to life.

Oh dear, and it looks as though producers Lions Gate are almost as big a bunch of cocks as some the the "fans" of the novels....

In fact, almost as big a bunch of cocks as the producers of The Hobbit who want to go around the UK closing down every single business that's been trading under the name "Hobbit" for about the past f***ing decade or two, even though J R R Tolkien's estate has no problems with it..... -_-

You know, I'm really glad now I made the decision to download this film, I'm glad I've not given these petty-minded w*n**rs any of my money.... -_-

The Copyright Cartels are just going totally bat-shit crazy now... "oh, we MUST protect our 'intellectual property' even against something that's actually a good idea and positive and would actually give us good publicity....". A real 'cutting off your nose to spite your face' exercise if ever there was one....

Dear GOD. People need to start standing up to these copyright dictatorships telling them where to shove their totalitarian bullshit. Intellectual Property laws were not designed to be used in such a manner and surely the AUTHOR would have absolute control over what infringes her copyright. After all the books, the screenplay and basically everything is her Intellectual Property. Bankers, MPAA and RIAA are collectively what is wrong with the western world.

Yeah, you'd think, wouldn't you...? I mean, yes, the studio has bought the rights to make a film out of the novels, but really that's only like being given a licence, the intellectual property is not Lionsgate's, as they're not the original creators...

And, completely agree on the second part... Max Keiser has taught you well....

I've seen the movie a second time now and finished the book. There were a lot more differences than I expected, especially near the end but I don't really mind with most of what was cut out. I'd have liked the movie to make it clear that the

mutts were the dead tributes

and the bread & syrup coming from sponsors would've been fine but the movie is already two hours twenty minutes (although it really flies by) so I'm not bothered that scenes in the cave were cut down and I think the scene where

Thresh lets Katniss go

is fine how it is.

The movie did the final fight scene better imo and it seems a bit odd that parts of the ending were completely cut out, especially everything with

Peeta's leg

but oh well, I think the movie nailed it and the scene with the gamemaker at the end was a nice addition although I didn't pick up on it the first time. I don't think the scene with Peeta/Katniss was needed as from people I've talked to they managed to pick up that

Katniss might have been faking her love for him

anyway.

The thing is, though, how Thresh would even know that Rue and Katniss formed an alliance i nthe first place? Nevermind him finding out about how Rue died...

I think this was one of movie's biggest faults, along with them not including the bread from District 11 scene.

Did Clove not give it away? I can't remember the dialogue too well.
Finally saw this yesterday :D and I really enjoyed it and thought they did a very good job. I preferred the book obviously, although some of the gaps would be too long to put in the film so I respect that and they mainly stayed faithful to the text. The only thing that irked me was

as Jahq has already mentioned, that the dogs weren't made to be the tributes like in the book, I think this could've worked quite well and be very effective on the screen and add to the corrupt power of the the capitol and I'm slightly disappointed they missed this out

I have seen this movie a few weeks ago and I thought it was OK.

I almost cried when Rue died though. In the cinema!! I almost cried in the cinema. I'm too sensitive.

Loved the film. Went and bought the books after and they were pretty intense, though I was VERY disappointed with how the series ends but meh.

Have to say, this film was astounding. It had the right mix of comedy, drama and action and it actually made me shiver when the tributes were unleashed into the arena. It really does show just what hideous things human beings are capable of and how we enjoy making a sport of other people's struggles. I honestly could imagine something to this aim existing in the future.

With Thresh, I think we are supposed to believe he was aware of the others and keeping an eye on them, but trying to outlast as many of them as possible. (Which is why he would've known about Rue and Katniss' alliance).

He's not exact the type of guy (physically) who can spy on other tributes without being noticed though

In the book Thresh finds out about Rue and Katniss because he asks her, and then spares her life if I remember correctly.

Also

the blood bath scene is the best of the entire film. Its so effective in portraying the tension with the white noise and shaky camera work

It would have been nice had they shown more of the districts watching the TV more

And I've only just realised that Katniss

gained a score of 11 because the Capitol wanted her dead

BREAKING … Lionsgate will release two films based on Mockingjay, the third book in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will bow worldwide November 21, 2014, followed by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 on November 20, 2015. The first sequel, Catching Fire, is coming out November 22, 2013. The original Hunger Games bowed March 23 and has grossed $404.4 million at the domestic box office and $678.2 million worldwide.

To be expected really but I've only just started Mockingjay so I have no idea how it'll be split and whether there is enough really good material for it to be spread over two films.

Finished 'Catching Fire' last week and the ending gave me goosebumps, the last couple of chapters were so so good.

I really don't know how I feel about the movie split. I didn't really feel like the book was overloaded and filled with content like for example in "Twilight Breaking Dawn" but with only 3 books and the first movie making mega money, you can see the interest of the movie studio in extending the franchise.

So annoying that EVERYTHING gets split nowadays. But I guess it's cool we'll have two films instead of one. The last book does indeed have a lot of action in it. And I believe

the rebels going to the Capitol will be the second part

. It's so going to be Breaking Dawn, as in the first part/movie being QUITE DULL and actionless.

yeah, heard today the last book will be spilt into 2 films!! love the film, but the books are much much better!!

It looks SO good in HD (and I'm finally watching it in original - hate dubbed versions they show in theaters <_< ).
