September 15, 201212 yr I love how she lowered herself to Red Or Black in desperation, and then does a months old single!!!
September 15, 201212 yr I don't see how doing Red or Black is any more desperate than doing Chatty Man, Graham Norton's show or whatever else personally. I'm sure the record company dictated to her which song to sing and it's obvious they don't have any kind of strategy whatsoever now. I get the impression the label let her go away and record this album without any interference, only to realise when she delivered it that it contained no hits. I think the best thing she can do is move swiftly on to album number six with some carefully engineered A&R to ensure she has the hits in place.
September 15, 201212 yr On another note the album is a huge grower. If you'd have told me a month ago this would be better than P!nk's effort I'd have told you to fuck me gently with a chainsaw. Bucket List and Waiting for the Night should've been the first two singles. Too late now though!
September 15, 201212 yr She performed 'Big Hoops' on Red Or Black? As much as it's 100 times better than her current single, this campaign gets even more laughable. Jark's right, no strategy whatsoever. Maybe her record company (or her) have realised that it won't get any better than 'Big Hoops' this era and decided to cling on to that for dear life.
September 17, 201212 yr I love this album! Probably my favourite of the year so far. 01 End Game 02 Spirit Indestructible 03 Waiting For The Night 04 Big Hoops 05 Believers (Arab Spring) Waiting For The Night 100% should have been the lead single, followed by Spirit Indestructible. What a flop. Shame. :(

I actually think performing Big Hoops was the better option. Nothing is going to save the title track anyway, she's better off performing a track that the public vaguely knows/likes rather than her upcoming megaflop.
September 17, 201212 yr Hmm, I bought the deluxe version today but Big Hoops seems to finish abruptly at 3:47 when the iTunes store page for the album lists it as 3:52 in length so it seems like there's a few seconds missing from the end of the song... unless iTunes have it wrong lol or whether it's meant to sound like that or not I don't know but it doesn't sound like the end of the song. Just wondered if that was the same for anyone else? (I have OCD when it comes to things like this haha). Nice album though. Spirit Indestructible, Parking Lot, Waiting for the Night and End of the World are my favourites so far. Like Miracles, Circles and Believers too.
September 18, 201212 yr I've just heard Parking Lot for the first time (watched the video) - DEAR GOD what a tuneless DRONE of a song, literally no hook or melody AT ALL.
September 18, 201212 yr 3m80lgmrS-4 No flash Ray Kay video can disguise a piss poor song. Edited September 18, 201212 yr by ▲▲▲
September 18, 201212 yr I actually really like Parking Lot and the video is fine but I just can't understand why they even made it. Are they even bothering to put it on iTunes, send it for radio adds??
September 18, 201212 yr I like the video, but it hasn't done much for the song. It's not awful but it's just quite annoying and not much more than just OK, she needs a LOT more than this to be honest but obviously it doesn't really matter because this era is 99% dead sadly.
September 18, 201212 yr Love the song. Like the video. Just wish it were a little less busy because it looked like there were some quite nice shots in there.
September 19, 201212 yr Waiting for the Night is so god damn maximal. Somebody at her label really hates her.
September 20, 201212 yr I'm not sure I've ever seen somebody commit career suicide on such an epic level before, except maybe Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
