Looks like Kelly will get a 2nd week at the top then, wasn't expecting that!

Would love for Katy to get it next week, HDD say PoM sold 97,884 in it's first 12 hours?

ALL OF HER: Count Katy Perry as yet another beneficiary from Grammy sales spikes, as the performance of her brand-new “Part of Me,” which was made available instantly on iTunes, charted just 12 hours later at #7 on the Songs tally, with 97,884, climbing to #2 this morning. The song is apparently a rebuke to her ex, Russell Brand, and was introduced via a fiery performance on Sunday night's award ceremony, where Perry was up for a pair of phonographs for "Firework" (including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance). Kudos to Direct Management’s Martin Kirkup for a successful introduction of the new tune. (2/14p)

I'd like to think JLS have bombed in the US because, let's face it, their singles since 'One Shot' have been atrocious. If 'Everybody In Love' (easily their best single imo) couldn't help them crack America then none of their latest singles will even compete.

'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'Glad You Came' are decent pop singles. I'm not a fan of either The Wanted or One Direction but will give them credits for these two tracks. Although that's moreso down to the record company getting them those tracks in the first place.

I'm gobsmacked at how fast One Direction have taken off on iTunes. I'd be even more shocked if 'WMYB' became the highest debut entry in the US chart beating the #11 entry for 'Wannabe' by Spice Girls. Surely it won't enter higher, but if its airplay hasn't even started yet we might see 1D #1 in America in the next 2/3 weeks. :o

The British pop invasion of America start(ed in 2011 with Adele)s here... :D

1D will not be #1 for a long time if at all. Certainly not in 2/3 weeks barring some sort of miracle. JLS should have launched with Beat Again.

EDIT: Is Whitney going into freefall or what? I haven't been tracking her at all but a bunch of songs (Selena, Christina and to a lesser extent The Wanted) have climbed around 10 places since I last checked and I can't see why unless the Whitney + Grammy effects are quickly wearing off.

One Direction might have peaked, they're now in dark red on Kworb. So close yet so far from the top 10 (Coldplay are even in the green again). Fingers crossed it won't go that high again but I know it will when airplay picks up :(

All three of Adele's entries are in the green again, RITD is getting pretty close to overtaking Whitney and SLY is also close to re-overtaking fun. (although Nicki is increasing faster - surprised it hasn't climbed from #7 yet though TBH).

iTunes are just telling us how well she's done in the first 12 hours.

But those 12 hours probably include part of Sunday night, so 3-4 hours of sales will most likely be subtracted from that figure for the charts.

I have no idea, but I am delighted as the higher it goes it will only help Pixie.

10. Coldplay - Paradise 31.6% 0.3%

11. One Direction - Don't Know Your Beautiful 27.4% 0.9%

28. The Wanted - Glad You Came

I still think 1D's chart position is amazing with virtually no airplay. If one didn't know better, one would think they were an established act in the US.
With a #11 debut, if it hangs on to the top 30 by Sunday, is it safe to bet on a BB100 entry next week?

Oh I'd say a Hot 100 placement is guaranteed as long as it doesn't fall below say, #70. I expect to see it somewhere between 50-70 on Billboard next week.

The Wanted comfortably debuted on the Hot 100 without ever going higher than about #64 (and it had dropped out of the top 100 by the end of the week). One Direction will probably be aiming for a top 50 or even top 40 debut.

I wouldn't say it's had no airplay, the song itself has been around for months and has been anticipated by the USA. Their young boys who will get comparisons of Justin Bieber, I expected them to do well, just not this well. Their song is all over Disney aswell though so I guess that's helping.

Only 0.6% behind now! One Direction should be thankful Glee have literally done nothing to the charts this week.

How stupid of me! Thanks Charlie :D

What Makes You Beautiful #10!!
I wonder what made it pick up so fast after starting to drop quite fast. Anyway delighted to see One Direction already top 10 in America. Lets just hope The Saturdays somehow manage to do well in America.
