Ellie gets discussed because her crazed stans want to discuss her. :) And Lights is amazing. And the most US friendly song in her arsenal. Starry Eyed wouldn't cut it and she hasn't got many strong singles beyond that. It's not like she's making zero progress either.

I suspect Ellie's 2nd album will do well, but as for Lights, she's done all she can to promote the hell out of it including playing at a D.C Xmas party for the White House but this is as far as it'll go.
They are also covering Glad You Came, but it's only the rival show choir (The Warblers) who sing it, so their version won't be one of the highest charing songs from the episode, but I do hope it boosts the original.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did - after all, 'Teenage Dream' became only Glee's second top ten Billboard Hot 100 hit, as well as the Warblers giving a fair few more top 100 hits last season.

Lol I know, right. I love Ellie but I don't see the need to discuss her constantly at #100 give or take a few...

Yeah I really like Ellie too, it just seems a bit odd every time come on here you got an update of her moving up a few places in the below #80 position

So OneD out of top 10 soon and LMFAO returning?

The reason 'lights' flopped over here was because it was the 6th single, and the airplay was low. Its doing well in the US because its pure pop. I hope the follow up for radio is animal because that would be another top 100 hit for her.
LMFAO  #10

1D  #11

f*** OFF :manson:

Never did I ever think I'd WANT One Direction to stay top 10, but when that's the alternative, I do.

Someone Like You back up to #8, Chris Brown down to #9 :D This is pleasing.

Good to see One Direction back out of the top 10 - can The Wanted get up there instead soon please :P

Glee are covering What Doesn't Kill You this week as well, so more of a boost for Kelly!

'The Wanted' being covered on Glee ... :o

That will be an enormous boost for them. Doesn't matter who covers it, didn't the Warblers version of 'Teenage Dream' get to #1 on iTunes?

She doesn't need to perform it - just needs a contestant to

'Rumour Has It' is getting covered on the new show 'Smash' soon, doesn't get the ratings that American Idol or The Voice do but it's something.

It did, was even #1 on Digital songs that week selling over 200k.

The Warblers do have a different (less popular) frontman this season though and combined with lower ratings/the covers not performing as well, I doubt their version will do much, will likely do more for the (much better) original thankfully.

It's just in time for airplay to build a bit too, episode 5 (and episode 3 airs on Monday)!

That's why I didn't think it would do too well. Smooth Criminal was the highest of the MJ ep though looking back, but that could've been because of Naya and the different arrangement/effective performance. It's always the ND sectionals performances that do the best, so WDKY(S) could be helped to the top again.

So happy it's looking likely Katy Perry will get her 5th number one from the Teenage Dream campaign, Recently I would say she is the most succesfull female from USA even more so than Gaga Sales don't lie. Although Born This Way opened with 1m+ Sales!

Yeah, singles wise she has stormed ahead of Gaga this era. Apparently Gaga is returning to her sound/style from TFM so hopefully she can have some huge hits off the next album :D

I think Gaga should take a GOOD LONG break. But good for Katy though, nice to see good ol' pop songs doing well on the chart.

Combined Pop Bars:

1. Katy Perry - Part Of Me 100%

2. Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You 94.2%

3. Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) 83.3%

4. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain 80.6%

5. Fun. - We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe) 72.4%

11. One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful 37.0%

15. The Wanted - Glad You Came 33.9%

6th.

However the fact this is a new (ish) song from a re-release makes it slightly less impressive.
