January 17, 201114 yr Flaming typical, everyone makes a meal out of United getting a decision that could have gone either way in their favour last week as some massive conspiracy, and this week when everything goes Spurs way (most notably the complete JOKE of the two yellow cards; the second especially) and NOTHING IS SAID. Completley typical.
I don't think it is a conspiracy, but it is a well known fact that Manchester United always get the rub of the mill at home generally. I mean whenever Man Utd are losing/going for the win there is 4/5 added minutes, yet whenever they're winning it is always 2 normally. It's football, and these decisions generally seem to even themselves out, and Rafael (I think?) getting sent off against Spurs is no way near as big as Steven Gerrard getting sent off against Man Utd...
January 17, 201114 yr Not that nonsense about stoppage time again. After all, there's nothing to stop the opposition scoring in stoppage time is there?
January 17, 201114 yr Not that nonsense about stoppage time again. After all, there's nothing to stop the opposition scoring in stoppage time is there? No of course not. But at Old Trafford they always get the rub of the mill with stoppage time. It's 4 mins when it is Manchester United 2-2 Bolton, but only 2 minutes when it is Manchester United 1-0 Blackburn.
January 22, 201114 yr Anyone who thought Hodgson should have stayed at Liverpool, should have just watched the game against Wolves. Liverpool were outclassed a few weeks ago against them, now its a totally different story. Pass and move is finally back!
January 22, 201114 yr Few wins on the bounce for Carlisle lately after a fairly indifferent spell including the defeat at Torquay. After this, there was pressure on Greg Abbott from some fans and the local media. Surprising result today from League One was the Tranmere one. Thought I must have had something slipped in the coffee when I saw that result come through. :coffee:
January 22, 201114 yr Well Ian Holloway is starting to get quite annoying now isn't he? Going on about "ridiculous" bids for Charlie Adam, yet he's bid what Peterborough consider to be too low an amount for 2 of our key players, and he's annoyed about us turning down the bid  How dare Peterborough reject a bid for 2 of their players!
January 23, 201114 yr That's the hypocrisy of football managers though. To be fair to Holloway, Charlie Adam is worth £40m to the club if they stay up. He'd certainly improve the Liverpool squad, as we are lacking a midfielder with any real creativity, but absolute maximum for him would be £6m especially with 18 months to go on his contract...
January 24, 201114 yr Richard Keys and Andy Gray stepped down from Monday Niight Football tonight because of sexist comments made off air about the female linesman at Wolves v Liverpool. Let's be fair, they just said what most men were thinking.
January 24, 201114 yr How are we supposed to take their views seriously when we now know that they are a pair of sexist pigs?
January 24, 201114 yr They'll get off lighter that Ron Atkinson did for his rascist comments but let's face it they're both as guilty as him of discrimination. Are Sky more lenient or is it less offensive to discriminate against sex as it is race?
January 25, 201114 yr He's an absolute dick. He doesn't know a thing about football anyway...and always talked rubbish. I am not sure what will happen to Richard Keys. I'd be surprised if he got sacked, but it might still happen. Of course the Daily Mail brigade will have made this far worse, but what he said about the lineswoman was disgusting really. Pretty ignorant. My only problem with female referees/assistants in the game is that the FA fastrack them to make themselves look better. I know again this may sound sexist, but Amy Rayner for example, she is a very poor/inconsistent referee, yet she has been fast-tracked through the leagues just because she is female... it's not their fault mind.
January 25, 201114 yr Unlikely Keys will get axed unless further revelations come to light, which is what occurred with Andy Gray. In addition, Keys has apologised to Massey. Massey has withdrawn from tonight's game at Gresty Road for Crewe's league 2 clash. The game should not be about the officials, which is the explanation provided for this withdrawal.
January 25, 201114 yr Just proves to you how much he must have been liked aswell when you see the other footage...uploaded onto YouTube by his supposed 'mates' HA. The only thing that does not leave me with much joy, is that one of the other clowns are going to have to take over Grays' position.
January 25, 201114 yr Mixed reaction on my FB over Gray's resignation, the more popular have went along the lines of 'true legend, take a bow, I wish you stayed', while the more intelligent go along 'sexist pig'. Whoever chooses the former IS the latter.
January 25, 201114 yr Apparently Keys and Gray have invited Sian Massey to join them for dinner. Obviously they will be expecting her to cook it.
January 26, 201114 yr The one gripe I have with this whole situation is Andy Gray has basically been sacked for doiing on TV what Loose Women do every single day. Just sayin'
