I'm sure a few people will, but I think overall it'll probably make the original more popular. There were covers of songs that went viral on the Internet last year, such as Born This Way, Look At Me Now, Otis and Super Bass, and I think pretty much all of them benefitted from the millions of people watching the covers and talking about them.

 

Infact, now that I think about it, the song has suddenly climbed about 30 places on US iTunes in the past few days. Obviously, I don't live in the US, so I don't know the true reason for this, but it could be partly due to that video.

We've got more than enough old-ish songs coming back for a second spell in the Top 40 already and "Pumped Up Kicks" has already been in the Top 75 for 26 weeks. Surely there must be something else new that would be more worthy?
