Lady GaGa - Born This Way: Tremendous album, as a whole it is better than The Fame and The Fame Monster ('Highway Unicorn' and 'You And I' (and the bonuses) lower the bar somewhat, but it was everything I hoped it would be. There's no 'Poker Face' or 'Bad Romance' type smash on here though, and my two favourites 'Government Hooker' and 'Heavy Metal Lover' wouldn't exactly work as singles.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Make A Scene: Let's face it, I was always gonna say this. It's a very strong and worthwhile album, I'm not so keen on 'Homewrecker' and 'Synchronised', the weak chorus of 'Under Your Touch' ruins it and 'Can't Fight This Feeling' is neither here nor there, but everything else is gold.

Will Young - Echoes: This one shocked me, I don't mind Will Young and have liked several of his past singles but this is great! He returned with his best ever single and it's a fantastic album. I'm still annoyed that they're ignoring releasing 'Runaway' which should've been the rightful follow-up to 'Jealousy'.

Nicola Roberts - Cinderella's Eyes: Another shock for me, I never really rated Nicola but this is by FAR the best of the solo Aloud albums (not exactly hard, both of Cheryl's were god-awful). 'Fish Out Of Water' is :puke2: but everything else is at least good, 'Sticks + Stones' and 'Take A Bite' are my favourites aside from the three singles.

The Saturdays - On Your Radar: I had to mention this purely because it's their first album without a really bad track on it, something even Girls Aloud never quite managed.

The Naked And Famous - Passive Me, Aggressive You: I ignore the majority of today's overhyped indie bands but this one was a big standout, I love their sound and it's solid throughout, also boasting one of the year's best singles in 'Young Blood'.

Adele - 21: Worth a mention purely because she really came up trumps, I used to HATE her (although I think that's because of 'Chasing Pavements', the first album barring that song is actually decent), but I don't recall a bad track on this album at all. I didn't buy it, but it's definitely worth the success it has got.

The two big disappointments were Jessie J and Rihanna's albums, Rihanna has one properly good song in 'Where Have You Been' (even though the title track has grown on me now, and 'Take Care' more than makes up for her own album being a hot mess). I want Rated R Rihanna back! Jessie J disappointed me as I was mega excited about her this time last year, but all she's done is made an inconsistent record where she's tried to make sure she has all the bases covered and it doesn't feel like it's the album she was really aiming for either. The studio version of 'Who You Are' is also unlistenable when compared to that live version she did on the subway in New York.

The Vaccines - 'What Did You Expect From the Vaccines?' - short + sweet. The band are proud in the fact they only release short songs, refusing to include long and occassionally irritating intros - 'If You Wanna' and 'Norgaard' capture their pop rock, while 'All in White' just shows off Justin's voice - the standout of the album.

Chase & Status - 'No More Idols' - I remember hearing the album first time through and just thinking 'wow'. 'Brixton Briefcase' with Cee Lo Green and 'Hitz' with Tinie Tempah were immediate standout tracks, while 'Midnight Caller' and 'Embrace' with Clare Maguire and White Lies were collaborative-wise excellent, two of my favourite artists - although they lacked what the rest of the album had. The likes of 'Hocus Pocus' and sadly 'Flashing Lights' were mere filler material - 'No Problem', 'End Credits' and 'Heavy' were the real dance/drum n' bass standouts.

Jay-Z + Kanye West - 'Watch the Throne' - for me, West's production is flawless on the album. The opening track, 'No Church in the Wild' featuring Frank Ocean is the real standout track - but each track is brilliant in its own right. Sadly, the Beyonce collaboration is one of the low lights though - for such an over-hyped collaboration, it lacks the real hip-hop/dance-influenced sound that Beyonce + Jay-Z have had in the past. Hopefully rumours of a second collaborative album are true - will be waiting in anticipation.

A lot of people have included Adele 21 in their favourites. For me, I think its a very over-rated album and there are only 4 or 5 really good tracks with the rest being somewhat dull.

Adele - 21

The Sound Of Arrows - Voyage

The Airborne Toxic Event - All at once

Kelly Clarkson - Stronger : Amazing album!! Every track could be a huge single!!

Nicole Scherzinger - Killer Love : Very powerful pop music!! Her up-tempo tracks are unbelievable!!

Selena Gomez and The Scene - When The Sun Goes Down : Her best album with very good electropop songs!!

Bruno Mars-Doo Wops and Hooligans

Foster The People-Torches

Rebecca Ferguson-Heaven

Matt Cardle-Letters

Arctic Monkeys-Suck It And See

The Awakening - James Morrison

For the first time he doesn't sing about rain. Oh well. His duet with Jessie J is by far the worst song on the album but apart from that the rest are a great listen. Besides IWLYG, 'Forever' is lovely and upbeat and '6 weeks' is for the mellow moments.

Noel Gallagher - High flying birds

Elbow- Build a rocket boys

Arctic Monkeys - suck it and see

Beady eye- Different gear still speeding

Kasabian -velociraptor

My favourites were:

1. Adele - 21

2. Beyonce - 4

3. Britney Spears - Femme Fatale

4. Lady GaGa - Born This Way

A very commercial and utterly predictable favourite few albums from me.

The biggest surprise for me this year was Adele. I didn't like 'Chasing Pavements' a lot and the other singles from 19 turned me off, but 21 has turned me around completely and now I can't get enough Adele in my life. Beyonce also surprised me with what is imo her strongest album to date. GaGa was disappointing but there's no denying that it's a good album with a lot of very good songs on it. It didn't improve on The Fame Monster like I was hoping (it surely would've been my favourite album of the year if it had), but then she set a very high bar for herself so I guess I was may have been expecting too much anyway. Britney is my favourite artist EVER and came out with an album of very good dance songs, so naturally I adored everything about that album.

Matt Cardle - Letters

Well, did anyone expect this not to be my favourite? Exactly what I wanted and expected from Matt, i love every track on this album.

Jennifer Lopez - Love?

Well worth the wait, there is an obvious difference between the newer tracks and older ones she has recorded, but they are all really good.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way

I wasn't expecting much, having only loved one or two tracks from The Fame, but this is on a whole new level, amazing album.

Within Temptation - The Unforgiving

They just get better and better
