I did find Mikey's comment completely baffling. He's clearly never listened to Martin Solveig's song, looked at the song title and assumed very wrongly. :lol: If I read a review of 'Big In Japan' by Solveig and the reviewer wrote "I loved the original by Alphaville", I'd be thinking "sack this reviewer, they're CRAP!!!" :lol:

1. Lana: I just can't wait for her debut album now, from what I heard so far from her, the album could shift some sales. I've already pre-ordered from HMV :D

 

6. Jessie: I wonder if she could hold on for a second week at #1 in the official chart, she seems to have a good lead on iTunes at the moment on the other hand she could crash with SHM knocking at her door tomorrow. Antidote seems to be a quiet release to me at the moment.

 

1. I have to say I'm very disappointed in your change of username. I said all along it should be Lana Del BRAY taking the honours of "best username of 2012". Martin Del Rey doesn't come close to cutting it. :( Still, I'm hoping that 2012 will belong to Lana. I'm surprised she's been given a Brit nomination for Best International Newcomer. Would be ace if she wins as that could really help sell 'Born To Die' as it already be in the charts by the time The Brit Awards 2012 are boradcast. I wonder if Lana is going to perform on the night?

 

6. I doubt it, I still think Swedish House Mafia Vs Knife Party have the #1 spot bagged for next week. Have you seen the music video to 'Antidote'? They've clearly put a fair amount of effort into the video for this to be considered a "quiet release".

I adore 'Born To Die' and it was always going to top my chart. I hope it does well when released in the UK. I'd be more than happy to see this get to #1 officially. As for the 'Video Games' similarties, I'll put that down to being Lana's style of music. Not all her tracks that I've heard are like this, so there's good variation. :D

You're right, this is odd but that's why I think it's brilliant. Have to admit, on first listen I didn't know if I liked it or not (it was entered into BJSC) but I ended up changing my semi final votes to include '212'. It's continued growing post-contest and alongside Lana, I also see a bright future for Azealia.

This track really is fantastic, and not even close to what I expected when I first heard about this track. Definitely deserved its place at no. 1 in my chart in December. :D

This is the ultimate grower track - everybody has basically got this opinion. :lol: It may have finished 13th in BJSC but it finishd 3rd in BJSC - The Best Of so it's all good. :D I'm surprised my two entries both ended up in the top 3. :o

I really don't know. :( I think it's a fine slice of disco/RnB which I like a lot. It deserved to be a bigger hit but that's the UK iTunes downloading public for you. :P

When I counted down my Chart of 2011 I was checking to see which Guetta tracks have been the most succesful in my chart. 'Titanium' is David Guetta's second biggest hit in my chart, the most successful being 'When Love Takes Over'.

Indeed I did, great song but like all Christmas hits by the time I compile my first chart of January, all the Xmas tracks plummet down and out.

I've never judged a song without listening to it first. Sure, you have a pre-conception of what you *think* the song will sound like but you don't know until you listen.

 

OT; It makes me laugh when a 30 second clip leaks of a new song, and it goes to #1 in someones personal chart based on a 30 second clip. :o That's why I detest 'Spaceman' by Babylon Zoo so much. I expected it to be a trippy dance track with Alvin & The Chipmunks style vocals but what we ended up with was faux-gothic rock (luckily, I wasn't foolish enough to buy the single - I would've taken it back and asked for a refund :D ).

It's a surefire Top 10, though it's release is near and I hadn't heard it until now! I'll put that down to a lack of radio/TV listening on my part. Her hype is massive though, so can see this being just as big as Video Games, if not bigger.

It reminds me a bit of Sidney Samson's Riverside oddly. I liked that song and thought it was a bit odd, she's definately gonna be big this year! I think I'll download it. :)

It completely passed me by. I hven't since that contest until last week. When I listened I thought it ws in advert or something, must have been my terrible BJSC memory! :lol:
