May 13, 201312 yr http://i1.cdnds.net/12/25/618x432/tynchy_stryder_amelle_berrabah.jpg New DigitalSpy article: Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah has revealed that she has almost completed work on her debut solo album. The star confirmed she plans to put out her LP in summer, adding that she has 'poured her heart and soul' into the project. "Well, my kind-of deadline is the summer, so I'm due to release in the summer," she told No White Noise. "I was supposed to release a little earlier but I think since it's my first solo project, like really by myself, I've been sort of a perfectionist. I want to be completely ready. "I think at the moment everything has been falling into place perfectly, so it's looking like its definitely going to be this summer. I literally can't wait to get performing again." Berrabah also admitted that releasing the record in America would be "literally a dream come true", adding: "it's always in the forefront of conversation in my meetings and stuff with the label, so, well, I'll make sure it happens. "It's definitely something I've put my whole heart and soul into, so I'm going to really push and really hope for success over there. I really do." June 22, 201312 yr Great to see Amelle on tonight's Big Brother's Bit on the Side! :D Yeah, I saw that on demand, I wasn't expecting it so I was like "omg sugaaaaaaaaaa"
January 20, 20187 yr Scouring my iTunes Library for a playlist and I came across this!! 6 years on its a little dated now, that dubstep pop phase didn't produce many timeless tracks, but still pretty decent. Probably the best thing she did Solo post-babes.
January 20, 20187 yr ^ Totally agree! It's her best track. So catchy, even if it has aged prematurely like everything else from around that time. Why didn't they push this as the lead? Was it because it leaked early or something?
January 20, 20187 yr No idea! Her solo career was worse than the flatline release. It never really had any momentum to it and nothing seemed to happen. I can't recall this ever getting a release or much hype outside of the fanbase.
January 20, 20187 yr Shame! She's very talented and worked super hard over the years to break into the industry. It seemed so promising in 2009 with Never Leave You, but Sweet 7/Freedom definitely did a lot of damage for her credibility I think.
January 20, 20187 yr The less said about Freedom the better. Crash & Burn showed promise but I think Sweet 7 showed the UK was done with them. I'm not sure it'd've faired much better with Keisha but I live in hope that Wear My Kiss would never have been a single.
January 20, 20187 yr As much as Get Sexy was frontloaded in sales, I think there was still some interest in the band at that point to reach #2 in the charts. I'm under no illusions that Sweet 7 would've been a multi-platinum success, but I genuinely think Keisha's presence, and their sticking to the original plans, would've resulted in more of a fruitful era. Thank You For The Heartbreak/Wait For You should've been single #3, showing at least some identity as 'Sugababes'. They'd probably have split after Sweet 7 anyway.
January 22, 20187 yr Amelle should've left Sugababes during Keishagate and just gone solo. It probably would've benefitted her instead of being seen as a betrayer along with Heidi.
January 22, 20187 yr I don’t think the change in sound helped either. It got forgotten that Keisha started this era and people just saw Sweet 7 and Wear My Kiss and chalked it up to Keisha leaving. The total f*** up that was the Sweet 7 Release defo harmed its performance too. It was available in full like 7 weeks before release. Idiocy
February 8, 20187 yr Amelle responded to fans on Twitter last night saying she plans to upload some of her unreleased material. She said this about Wrigley's Extra: Ill put it up in the next few days so U can listen for yourself... it’s defo... ummm... different
February 8, 20187 yr A round about way of saying “it’s a bag of shite. I was on some heavy AF narcotics”
February 9, 20187 yr She's not very smart making these promises on Twitter as potential producers might step in and stop her from sharing them, but maybe they won't mind.
February 9, 20187 yr She's not very smart making these promises on Twitter as potential producers might step in and stop her from sharing them, but maybe they won't mind. Was thinking the same. I doubt anything will surface tbh, as much as I wish it would.
February 9, 20187 yr Was thinking the same. I doubt anything will surface tbh, as much as I wish it would. Well, at least Crown wasn't involved with her brief solo career and I believe she did most stuff with Pete Kirtley, who she collaborated with pre-Sugababes? So maybe he won't put his foot down, but yeah, she should've just leaked them if she wanted them out there.

It was actually Kirtley who put Mutya's original demo of Strung Out on his MySpace... then got grumpy when fans discovered it and it 'leaked'. Maybe he's still feeling generous. :P Edited February 9, 20187 yr by rowork
