"With more than 20 million streaming members globally, Netflix is the world's leading internet subscription service for enjoying films and TV programmes. For about £5.99/€6.99 a month, Netflix members in the United Kingdom and Ireland can instantly watch unlimited films and TV episodes streamed over the internet to PCs, Macs and TVs. Among the large and expanding base of devices streaming from Netflix are: Microsoft's Xbox 360, Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PS3 consoles; an array of Blu-ray disc players, internet-connected TVs, home theatre systems, digital video recorders and internet video players; Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod touch; Android and Windows tablets and phones; and Apple TV and Google TV. In total, more than 700 devices that stream from Netflix are available." - Netflix

I've been waiting for this to come to the UK for a while now (LoveFilm is utter rubbish and I've always felt a bit cheeky streaming from illegal websites) and it finally launched here this morning. It's pretty massive in the US and all my American friends have all commented on what a great service it is (despite the subscription fees rising) but so far I can't say I'm too impressed. Has anyone tried the free month trial yet? The selection seems quite poor and definitely can't be compared to what America is getting. Hopefully they'll start adding more stuff soon (I wonder if they are struggling to get deals in place?) and I know they're showing original content sometime this year (also new Arrested Development episodes) so we shall see. So far though? No thank you.

ooo I've always wanted this to come to the UK! Seems like everyone in American uses it. Giving it a go now..

good price terrible film selection.

lovefilm is 10x better just due to their catelogue.

The choice does seem pretty limited but I suppose it is only a day into it. The quality isn't as good as I'd expected either.

At least I can finish off my Arrested Development catchup guilt-free now though.

The quality does seem quite poor doesn't it? It says Arrested Development is supposed to be in HD but it looks pixelated to these eyes...

I downloaded it today and I'm not that impressed to be honest.

There's only 75 movie titles in each 'genre' and some of those are duplicated in say comedy and also in romantic.

Most of the titles are pretty old too, I can't see anything remotely recent.

I hope they start to add more as the month goes on, otherwise I'll be canceling before I start the subscription.

I was going to use LoveFilm because it looks like there's much more choice on there.

But I've heard bad things about it, it's more expensive and I don't have an XBox Gold account..

Edit: No joke, 10 minutes after this, I refreshed and they'd added a load more titles!!

Aye. It must vary for each stream because I've just started watching Twin Peaks (WHICH IS AMAZING ALREADY) and the quality is really good on this. I do hope they add more content recent stuff soon though.

Nice to see they've added more stuff to this. SNL

A new Twin Peaks convert! You're in for a treat.

You aren't going to like the last episode. :(

I'd like it if the PS3 app was a little bit more like the website. I think the website is easier to find stuff on. Other than that the PS3 thing is pretty good! It's much quicker than Lovefilm and works well with the controller.

Loving this so far though, I've always found Lovefilm's streaming to be limited and pricey.

As for the quality. I've had patches of poor quality then it returns to being really quite good quality. I've just started watching the non-HD Charmed and the quality is pretty decent. My only minor irritation is that it's not in Wide-screen when iirc the HD stuff is.
