How about including some text saying what these records are - all I see for most of them are some numbers and links to .jpg files on chartstats.com (as a side issue. do you have permission to link directly to images on that site?)

The guys just gone out of his way and you can and say that? Good lord, get a life.

I can guess a lot of these. I can't see any links. Am I missing something? Great info.

Grow up. I want to appreciate the work, but the list is completely unreadable to me in this format.

Great list thanks. Dunno why you don't like it fchd - the covers make the song artists and titles pretty clear.

One thing though, Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers definitely didn't sell 1m in 1990 alone. It was the biggest seller of the year but purported to have sold no more than 500k...is it including a previous release or has it really doubled its sales on iTunes etc?

And another thing...isn't it amazing what tat sells a million these days?

"Unchained Melody" sold 839,341 copies in 1990 and 23,472 copies in 1991 to make a total of 862,813 copies in the 1990s. On top of that the single was a number 14 hit in 1965 and in addition there will be digital sales from 2004 onwards. Probably not included in the total but the single also sold over 100,000 copies as a double A side with "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" in a release on Old Gold records in 1984. This release peaked at number 87 in January 1988 but spent a considerable amount of weeks in the Top 200 between 1984 and 1990.

For "Blue Monday" the majority of its sales are from 1983 rather than 1988. I think the single sold its millionth copy in the mid 90s.
