Thanks Eyes!

2. Indeed, it was on Scandipop a while back and I instantly loved it but the more I listen to it, the more euphoric it becomes. It takes the Avicii sound but seems almost more emotive than his music, stunning dance. I love the tiny bit of vocal in it too! I assume the name is a wordplay on France, Paris though which is quite confusing

6. I adore the original Heart version of Alone and Alyssa basically keeps all of the good bits with a decent pop/urban beat underneath - so I'm definitely a big fan of it, thought it would have been huge for you actually :o

21. Yep, I first heard about them a few days ago too and have now noticed them on Scandipop. I'm also a little bit in love with one of them (the older one) This song is gorgeous, like a slightly more country version of The Pierces.

29. I've found a new love for the album recently and wondered why I'd never charted Einstein first time around, thought it was time to rectify the situation

36. Indeed, it's definitely a great indie song, I'd have no problem at all with it being a huge hit!

48. It has a similar sound to 1000 Ships, not as good but still very strong - as for the top 50, I whittled it down to about 55 songs from my playlist of over 100, managed to get rid of another five and then just didn't want to cull anything - so I just extended the chart a bit! Doesn't take that much longer to do than a top 40 and with Eurovision season just around the corner (and 4 NF entries already charting this week), I need all the space I can get - Feb-May is nearly always my favourite period of the year for music!

2. I can see that, the more I listen to it too, the better it becomes. I can definitely see the Avicii comparisons, wonderful talent in the instrumental creation there.

6. It should have been, but I discovered it about the same time as The Game, entered that into BJSC, charted that and my original chart run of Alone Again was an afterthought in a 'why didn't I chart this' kind of way. So it'll rise as it gets popular in the UK.

48. Ah, yes, Eurovision. I wonder how I'm going to deal with that! (I guess I'll decide when all the songs show up) I don't think I'll start getting properly involved until every country's decided their entries, although I'll try and follow Melodifestivalen when I get time... I think this is the first year where I've been following the selection processes even marginally, I didn't actually watch Eurovision until a couple of years ago.

2. Indeed, I really appreciate Avicii as a producer for the exact reason that you stated, incredibly talented to make such euphoric melodies every time.

6. Fair enough, look forward to seeing it rise up your chart in the coming weeks!

48. My chart's between mid Jan-May are always by far the hardest to compile :drama: I still have as many songs as ever to chart but throw a ton of Eurovision songs into the mix too and it becomes almost impossible! Loads of songs suffer worse chart runs/peaks than they would have otherwise got because of this. On The Floor should have had far more than three weeks at #1 in my chart last year but it was at its peak for me in April, approaching the peak of ESC season so it was lucky that it managed three!

Hey! Some comments for you:

11. Marigold - You & I Know (14) (CR-18-14-11) Nice to see it still climbing :D

15. Young London - Whipped (NEW) (CR-15) I noticed the album at #3 in your chart! I've ordered the CD off Amazon, no idea when it'll arrive, but the clips sounded quite good!

18. Ivi Adamou - You Don't Belong Here (NEW) (CR-18) A really nice track, but...

20. Ivi Adamou - La La Love (NEW) (CR-20) ...surely Cyprus must select this? It'll be their best chance in winning since they entered the contest! It's like all the best bits of J.Lo and Helena Paparizou rolled into one!

27. Íris Hólm - Leyndarmál (NEW) (CR-27) A shame this failed to make the final, I'm sure if it was in this next semi final it would have sailed though!

40. Gréta Salóme & Jónsi - Mundu Eftir Mér (NEW) (CR-40) This could well end up being my favourite entry in the Iceland final. Whether it'll do well in Azerbaijan if it gets sent is questionnable

41. Alexandra Burke - Elephant (Eric Morillo, Romero and Nunez Remix) (NEW) (CR-41) I don't think I've heard this mix, but I loved the version I did hear!

46. Le Kid - Human Behaviour (NEW) (CR-46) I think it might be their weakest single to date, but it's good to know they are planning a second album despite the debut's flop in Sweden!

48. Rachel Platten - Work Of Art (NEW) (CR-48) Is this a new single? . I'm toying with getting the album, but it's a shame this track doesn't seem to be on it.

Thanks Ghosty!

11. Indeed, the Eurovision rush might keep it from ever making the top ten though, annoying :drama:

15. It's a really good album, a couple of good singles and at least two of the album tracks are in the same league as Let Me Go!

20. I'm sure they will, both songs have made an instant impact on me (watch them select Call The Police now :drama:). Agreed with your J.Lo/Helena comparison too!

27. Agreed, really pleasant song.

40. It's a very strong song, I'm not sure if this type of 'sound' can still do well at ESC though, I guess they'd translate it to English though to give it the maximum chance of doing so.

41. I really like all of the versions that I've heard, will climb a lot next week!

46. I think I probably agree, I really like it but it's not a crying shame that it wasn't on the album (if it was already written at that stage!)

48. It's from the soundtrack of a new US TV show called Jane By Design (the theme tune perhaps, not sure), so it's a one-off type tie in single.

Thanks Tom!

Call The Police is easily my least favourite of the Ivi Adamou songs, the other two are pretty equal in my affections but you're spot on - I was always going to love the most MOR one really wasn't I, with Delta Goodrem and The Corrs as my all time two favourite acts, is it really a surprise? :P Through The Night is very good, a bit like a more lively Rumer  Yeah...I like Shady Love but it's not grabbing me back to listen to it at all so I doubt it will ever be a huge hit for me. Nope I didn't get the Gotye album, I've had it downloaded for a couple of weeks it just clicked this week

No problem, and by the way I'm trying to phase out my use of :), I didn't realise everyone hated it so much, poor little guy :drama:

I still don't get that, La La Love is so generic by Eurovision standards, good but generic, whereas Call The Police is quite an original and edgy pop song, but yes the blandfest was always going to be your cuppa :kink: Yeah I know what you mean, gorgeous strings, downloaded it last week but never got to update the thread :( I can't STOP listening to it myself, I've even changed my phone background to the Scissors, I'm actually really excited about the next album and tour. Did you ever see them live? They're so good  Oh OK, me too, but I didn't really listen to it yet, it's getting to the point that I might not listen until it's out here officially (and I WILL buy it!)

Haha, that wasn't aimed at anybody specific, but it DOES actually come across as sarcastic to me (and apparently most people :o blame Vidcapper for using it next to every one of his 'I hate rap'/'you've already asked for that, only six requests a week please :)' god complex in the sales thread comments?). We all have our posting habits that annoy other people though, like me putting 'in my opinion' next to everything which I'm going to try to phase out now too!

Each to their own of course, Call The Police isn't really original to me, in fact if I never hear another shoehorned in dubstep breakdown in a pop song I'll die happy. La La Love I'm in love with though, but I'm a huge sucker for that RedOne-esque sound. Do you really find You Don't Belong Here bland? I think it's really catchy, even though it's mid-tempo and plodding! Is Shady Love the new single then, I've now heard that it's only a buzz single from some quarters :o No I never saw them live because honestly I've never been that big a fan of their music, I can't pinpoint why but Fire With Fire was actually their first hit in my chart back in 2010! I'll be buying it too when it comes out, if only to get STIUTK physically!

Thanks Daniel!

1. No points at all? Even I gave it 4 :o Nobody ever loves it on first listen - fact. This proves that not even you did!

4. It's certainly up there with her very best!

5. :cheer: it's in a much higher league than everything else he's done...combined.

28. She's been getting too much hate recently, why has everyone turned on her all of a sudden, this is just the type of song she was releasing all the time two or three years ago

1: Nil pwa. :( It is a brilliant song though, and I do remember that contest was particularly strong so if memory serves me correctly, it only JUST missed out on points! :P

28: I disgree, I do think this and All About Tonight are the most generic things she's ever released as singles... The Turn It Up singles I actually found to be all quite original tbh. This one is growing on me massively now though, so will probably enter my chart this week! :o

Oh I know, I'm just fully aware of my overuse of it :( For me the worst thing vidcapper does is  in response to pretty much anything he doesn't agree with. I have been told I overuse :kink: in the past too, but that doesn't appear to offend anyone so I'm sticking with it :kink:

OK maybe original isn't the word, but it's different for Eurovision and I would love to hear a song like that in the contest. I don't really hear RedOne in La La Love, more Dum Tek Tek :kink: Not a wholly bad thing but it is a bit cliched. Bland is a bit harsh I suppose, pleasant is the word I guess, it's like a Katy Perry ballad (a lot like Thinking Of You actually). Yep, it's the proper single, out on 13 February, and I'm torn between thinking it'll smash or flop completely :/ Cool, seems like a good idea, though I almost don't dare tell you that there is a 2 track CD single out in Germany

1. What a disaster :o That was the worst contest of the year imo with a dreadful top five, I can't believe this song finished as low as 13th!

28. I doubt it will be much bigger in my chart than it currently is but then apart from Boys & Girls, none of the singles from Turn It Up peaked massively high in my chart...

Vidcapper's just very annoying altogether  I don't mind 'kink' at all, although I don't use it anywhere near as much as I used to - maybe once or twice a month!

Most countries always pick the most pedestrian/bland song in their national finals for Eurovision, probably even moreso going forward now with the juries back, who apparently hated EVERYTHING contemporary sounding last year :/ Imagine each country picking the poppiest, catchiest song they have - what a great contest it would be :o Ah right, Shady Love does have a 'hit' feel/sound to it, but are they too out of vogue to have a big hit single now? Who knows, Maroon 5 and Will Young managed one! That's ok, I don't do the importing singles thing anymore, I'll just get the album - will probably be the same price as obtaining that single

49. Foxes - Youth (NEW) (CR-49)

Your chart is having a bit of an indie feel as of late, lots of Gotye (I need to listen to his album) & other gems.

Titanium back in the Top 5. It's a song that feels timeless already. David Guetta seriously needs to make songs more like this.

Nice to see Speak Out Now Top 10. I really hope this is a single. It's the best I've heard from her.

I listened to M83's album back in the Fall & I personally was disappointed. Midnight City & Reunion are smashing songs, but so much of it was forgettable for me.

Great chart as always!

11 - Oh dear :( . Understandable though! I don't think I've known a week like it where so many Eurovision songs have been released! Don't MGP normally hold off releasing the compilation until after the third semi?

15 - Good to hear!

20 - Call The Police would be an instant DNQ, and Ivi really doesn't deserve that given her very high quality back catalogue of singles!

40 - It depends on the staging. If they select it, I can imagine it being a pre-contest favourite that flops majorly like France last year!

48 - Oh ok, I'll try and get hold of an mp3 then :D

Thanks West, indeed I've been liking a lot of indie recently but the domination will come to an abrupt end on my next chart no doubt - Eurovision season has started

Titanium is a fantastic song, quickly becoming one of my all time favourites, at least we know what Guetta's capable of, which will make it all the harder to swallow when he returns to crap like Little Bad Girl...

I agree about Oh Land, it's so much more accessible than everything else I've heard from her!

I'm just listening to M83's album now for the first time actually, I'd be lying if I said I loved it but Midnight City and Reunion are excellent at least!

11 - Oh dear :( . Understandable though! I don't think I've known a week like it where so many Eurovision songs have been released! Don't MGP normally hold off releasing the compilation until after the third semi?

11. Indeed, I've never known this many great new Eurovision songs come out in the same week, no idea how I'm going to even start to compile a new top 50 tomorrow :drama: Hopefully You & I Know doesn't drop that far but I'm not sure yet...

20. I'm only aware of the one that you had at #1 in your chart a year or two back.

40. I think you're possibly right, I just can't see it crossing over to the televoters - it certainly doesn't have international hit potential. Mind you, Running Scared and Madness Of Love weren't really hits anywhere either :drama:
