Posted January 19, 201213 yr I'm making this thread for people who have seen this film at the cinema and for them to post a review of the film as it opens in the UK tomorrow, however be warmed this may include spoilers.
January 19, 201213 yr I'm not going to watch it in the cinema, but it does look interesting from the trailers I've seen.
January 19, 201213 yr I'll probably wait for the DVD, as I don't think my mum would be interested in coming with me to watch it, and certainly none of my mates! :P
January 20, 201213 yr Author So, I went to see this, this morning and I'm going later tonight again. I really didn't think I would like it, well I loved it the film starts back in 1998 then goes back and forth to 1936/1937. I really loved all the scenes that Wallis and Edward was in. The music was great too. (I really loved it on these parts, when wallis and edward meet aka as the bit that was shown on the Graham Norton show and when Edward announces he's stepping down from the throne. I was surprised they was even some rock music when Wallis dances and even more surprised that set in 1972 wallis dances to edward who is on his death bed to the song Let's do the twist again. I wasn't so keen on wally's part in the movie (the other woman in film). In parts W.E. is a tad violent with some strong language but it's not that bad. Wally's and Wallis' world do come together in for a few scenes. I was a little surprised to see appearances from Laurence Fox & Geoffrey Palmer Overall I loved the film, I didn't think I would it's well worth seeing!!.
January 20, 201213 yr Author Yeah she was good!, this must have been a lot more challenging than Filth & Wisdom.

January 21, 201213 yr Author I've seen W.E. twice now and I really love it, its such a sad story for Wallis you can't help but feel her pain. I might see it again in the week, if not I can't wait for the dvd!.
January 22, 201213 yr Author My friend went to see it and he text me that there was just 6 people in the cinema on a saturday evening!. That's bad!. The film is excellent I encourage anyone to see it. Now I keep reading up about Wallis' life that the film didn't show.
January 22, 201213 yr I thought the film was really well directed, acted and was so educational!!! The reviews obviously just looked at the 'directors' name and unfortunately none were brave enough to write about it in a positive light! Madonna should have been a silent director, used someone else's name then revealed it was her!! How busy was your cinema? I went to leicester square (holds about 1800) only 50 seats were being used! Masterpeice the song suites the film perfectly! Edited January 22, 201213 yr by vibe
January 22, 201213 yr Author The first showing I went to early morning was just 8 people and later that (friday) night there was about 20 people (sadly!). What story did you like the best wallis and Edward's or wallys ?. My least favourite part of the film was masterpiece I hate to say.
January 22, 201213 yr i like both and enjoyed them both! I think i prob felt more empathy for Wally if honest!! least fav part was masterpiece? how is that it is only played over the end credits!! Lyrically it couldnt fit the film better!
January 22, 201213 yr Author Everyone I spoke to seemed to like Wally's story better. You could see a mile off that she was gunna hook up with the guard a mile off. Masterpiece is great but it was just my least favourite bit. Vibe, do you know the title of the song/music that was used when Wallis and Edward dance and again when wally and that guy are playing pool?. I sooo loved that. I hope it's on the soundtrack but I guess it's not looking at the tracklisting.
January 22, 201213 yr Author I'll have to go again and record it on my fone and get an app to tell me what it is. lol
