Not for long though, there's at least 2/3 that will overtake within weeks. I reckon we'll be looking at something like 25-30th by the end of the year.

In a sense, this album if finished before it ever took off, it wont even manage 200,000 UK sales, who in a million years seen that coming as i can 100% say i didnt see that coming in a million years. Im shocked a Madoona album will sell so low and not produce one hit single in the UK.

The good thing about this happening in my opinion is it will make Madonna bounce back bigger and more determent with the next album.

We thought this after Hard Candy too :(

Well I definitely expected it to happen, my pre-release prediction was 150-175k and I think it'll struggle to reach the bottom estimate of that now. For the effort she put into promo/the singles I think its a fair result, Gaga changed the pop scene in the UK in more ways that one. You can't just lazily chuck things out anymore and expect them to sell on name, 1) they need to be GOOD and 2) and possibly more importantly, you need to be VISIBLE ie. promote. Barely anybody knew MDNA/the singles were out.
I do forget hard candy under performed aswell but at least it delivered some hit singles. Lady Gaga has indeed changed the pop scene in the last few years and i guess it makes it harder more such established acts like Madonna to have the big hits she was once used of and used of quiet easily too. I still believe she has a big hit or 2 left in her yet but it certainly wont come from mdna.

Can u explain on why you think GAGA has changed the game / pop scene?

MDNA has not failed because oF GAGA imo. Her second album has not exactly created that many hits. Hair, You & I and Marry the Night all missed the top 10 and Judas just scrapped in.

Kylie even with alot of PROMO with her new song is also no longer top ten on I-TUNES!

Let's remember that GMAYL would have been a chart hit initially if all sales were counted towards the singles chart.

A lot? She's only done one performance which was on The Voice yesterday! :P

Still would have missed the Top 20, though.

Gaga hasn't changed the pop world much it was all done before she was about and almost Madonna.

As for MDNA's sales yes they are bad but LN and Universal won't care as touring is where the money is not albums so much these days.

Give Me All Your Luvin' & Girl Gone Wild are BOTH are the Italian Year To Date Chart Top 20!.

Italians Do It Better (again lol).

Cant see that being true, do you have a source?

The album pre - order gave you the single straight away (but cos of the price of this the single couldnt count towards the chart), this pre-order was number 1 on i-tunes for days! Then when this stoppped then sales counted and it still made 37, i would have thought it would have easily made the top 10?

Just by looking at it's total sales, you can tell it definatly wouldn't have reached the Top 10! :P About #21/#22

It's not THAT bad. It makes me laugh everyone else at the moment is doing stuff Madonna did about 12 years ago. Lol

GMAYL was really to promote her Super Bowl show and tour.

Cant see that being true, do you have a source?

Nope and the source was MW that gave us total sales. The sales that were excluded wouldn't have been enough for the top 20.

Only the album was number 1 on iTunes on pre-orders and we know that the digital album sales are still very-very low, that doesn't indicate how a pre-ordered song performing on the singles chart.

GMAYL didn't even go top 10 on UK iTunes so it was only wishful thinking that it could go top 10.

If you really-really want it, I can search back in the older sales threads for you for the source.

Was the #21 position from Friday 3rd feb at 2pm (when it went on sale) - the Saturday 4th at 23:59 ?.

If so then that's really good!
