Posted January 28, 201213 yr With Love The Way You Lie passing 1m for Rihanna on 22/10/11, followed by Only Girl on 10/12/11 & We Found Love to follow in the next 3 weeks, surely no-one will have had three 7-figure sellers in such rapid succession? I dare say someone will pedentically point out that their release dates are much further apart than that... Edited January 28, 201213 yr by vidcapper
January 28, 201213 yr How many even have 3 million selling singles? The Beatles have several million selling singles.

January 28, 201213 yr And did any three of those Beatles songs pass 1 million within 5 months of each other? Funny how Rihanna's three songs pass a million all at a similar time though. I can't see her getting another in a while (if ever) as her next highest-selling song is What' My Name?, which is *only* on just under 800,000 I think, so that would take an ETERNITY to get near a million, and I can't see any of her upcoming songs being million-sellers.

What about her next album? In the context of still increasing single sales and her quite frankly astonishing hit rate, I'd say it's a near certainty she'll get another from the next album.
January 28, 201213 yr I agree with the prediction of another one from the next album or maybe a collabotation.
January 28, 201213 yr What are the chances of 'Talk That Talk' being reissued later on this year with a few new singles. If this was the case, and a new single proved popular Rihanna could very well get another big selling single by the end of 2012. Like Snow Spiider has pointed out, Rihanna's extraordinary hit rate is on par with Madonna in the mid 80s (1985 to 1987) but Rihanna has the advantage of downloads. Madonna relied purely on physical formats back then in which only a certain amount would've been shipped. 'Into The Groove' is Madonna's biggest selling single of her entire career yet hasn't sold anywhere near one million copies.
January 28, 201213 yr I think Rihanna would just release an entire new album later this year, rather than a re-issue. I read an interview of one of her managers saying that in this current climate, to be a successful pop star, you need to always be releasing new material, and that they would re-release her albums, but they get too much hate from the general public for it, so he said (well, he suggested) that they'll just release a whole new album every year instead. Not that it'll make a difference, as yes, still more potential million-sellers from any new material. Maybe Madonna could get her biggest-selling song this year! :o Although if she did, it would be because download sales are so high atm, rather than because it's her most popular song. It really depends on what the record company choose to release as the lead single. Madonna would have to comeback with a track on par with 'Hung Up' if she is going to sell bucketloads in her first week of release.

Madonna would have to comeback with a track on par with 'Hung Up' if she is going to sell bucketloads in her first week of release. Even if she had a 4 Minutes-style chart run where she takes a month to climb to #1, I think that could do it, with today's sales climate. How much does she need to sell to do it? Although I heard what I think is a demo of her her new song, and it sounds really boring (although I remember the demo of Hung Up, and that was really boring too, but it turned out to be good in the end). But if the final version is not much better, I can see it not being a big hit at all.
