February 5, 201213 yr To be honest, it was mostly voted not by Melodifestivalen cheese eaters like yourself. Although a certain JOHNKM gave it a few points as well. Ask him. He will probably tell you why he found 'So Real' worthy of points in terms you will understand. :D You're the one who rated Sean Banan 10/10  When it comes to Eurovision, this is very much pot kettle black!
February 5, 201213 yr Very happy with all those qualifiers! A little disappointed for Belarus, always had a soft spot for My Galileo!
February 6, 201213 yr Author You're the one who rated Sean Banan 10/10  When it comes to Eurovision, this is very much pot kettle black! I meant schlager pop. Tirren and you are known to eat this stuff up! And I pretty much dislike schlager with the exception of a few songs. Like, I don't see AT ALL why 'Open Your Heart' and 'It Hurts', speaking of 2003/2004 entries, are deemed so good. Or 'Invincible' / 'Hero'. While the latter seemed to have grown on me a bit they are all only nice little songs. Edited February 6, 201213 yr by Ljósið
February 6, 201213 yr Yay for 'Lane Moje' qualifying - THE best Eurovision song of the decade by miles! Turkey was awesome, and different from all the rest. Latvia didn't deserve to be a nil pointer though, I almost voted for them!
February 6, 201213 yr Open Your Heart isn't schlager at all Pavel! If anything it's rousing Radio 2-fare pop...

While the latter seemed to have grown on me a bit they are all only nice little songs. Yep and I have no shame in that :D Those that don't 'get' it never will and that's fine but for those that do it's pure joy - there's nothing better than hearing an incredible new schlager song  It's the only genre that can pretty much guarantee a smile on my face when I listen to it, it's escapism, it's OTT, it's 'happy' in the confines of a three minute song. Pretty much my go to genre whenever I need a mood lift. Hero, Invincible and Open Your Heart are so anthemic and feel good, I can't help but belt them out when I hear them.
February 6, 201213 yr My go-to mood lift of choice just has to be (ironically) Jag ljuger så bra  So good!
