Posted January 30, 201213 yr Warner Brothers are to release an 11 disc boxset of Madonna's previous 11 studio album from Madonna - Hard Candy due out on March 5th!. Edited March 25, 201213 yr by SweetCandy
January 30, 201213 yr This is good new for her newer audience, I am amazed by the amount of people getting interested in her for the first time. Hopefully, the set will be suitably priced so new fans can further discover her music. :)

Hopefully, the set will be suitably priced so new fans can further discover her music. :) I know but I'm wondering what the price will be for an 11 disc set. That will be interesting. Will newer fans what this when you can download her stuff. I will buy the set to add to my collection, I hope the artwork will be good and hopefully at least 1 new song on the set - but I seriously doubt it!.
January 30, 201213 yr This is interesting, WB have never really milked her back catalogue so it's weird to see them beginning to rerelease her stuff now that she's no longer with them. If Like A Prayer's remastered let's hope there's individual releases too! I'll buy the set if there's unreleased tracks and stuff but if not there's no point. I'd love packaging like the recent The Smiths boxset, all the albums were remastered and packaged in replica's of the original vinyl artwork. It's really neat and it was affordable too, only £30 for 8 albums. But then there weren't any new or extra tracks.
January 30, 201213 yr If priced correctly this package could do well and a nice way to introduce her back catalogue to new audiences. The fact she has 3 greatest hits available and 4 if you count the ballad collection it might take away sales as only dedicated fans would buy the studio albums.
January 30, 201213 yr I presume it will just be the standard editions of all the album but hopefully they will be remastered.
January 30, 201213 yr Kylie recently did this with all of her parlophone albums, which retailed for about £20. I expect this will be about £40-£50 in the shops.

Not really, it happens quite a lot. When an act is still with a label they throw their efforts into making money from new albums/singles, but once they've left that option is gone so then it makes sense to re-release old stuff at minimal cost. Anyway I doubt I'll buy this, I own all the albums already, some of them more than once (deluxe editions of the last 5).
January 30, 201213 yr If I can get it for £45 or less I'll probably pick it up for my birthday or something. Don't think I'd want to pay more than that...
January 30, 201213 yr Author Warner could really do with releasing a remix album, a follow up to 1987's You Can Dance. I'd be REALLY happy if they released some live albums of one off performances like from award shows etc.. They should have released her live tour stuff on 2 discs just not a selection on one.

Yeah, I agree with that in terms of the live audio. It will be interesting to see how Warner will market the box set and at what price they it will be. I also agree it is unlikely there will be any new tracks on this set, but who knows what will happen in the future. Warner are sitting on a gold mine owning her back catalogue.
January 30, 201213 yr Author Well this year is 30 years since Everybody was released in October 1982 and 30 years since her debut album Madonna next year in July 1983. So I would imagine they will do something then!.

The chances of them releasing any new and unreleased stuff is slim, for some reason record companies prefer to keep re-releasing the same old crap everybody's already got rather than put out something nobody has and the fans would lap up. Sony are the worst at this!
January 30, 201213 yr Author I know but it's just boring when you have all that stuff a million times over.
January 30, 201213 yr I know but it's just boring when you have all that stuff a million times over. I know it is, and I've given up on rebuying stuff for collection purposes. If I hadn't I would've had about 50 copies of MJ's Thriller by now lol.
January 30, 201213 yr Author The greatest gift Warner Bros could give the fans is to release The Virgin Tour, Blond Ambition & Re - Invention Tours on dvd.
January 30, 201213 yr The greatest gift Warner Bros could give the fans is to release The Virgin Tour, Blond Ambition & Re - Invention Tours on dvd. I completely agree, however, vibe does have a point. In terms of Blond Ambition, I am not sure if Warner own the rights.
January 30, 201213 yr The greatest gift Warner Bros could give the fans is to release The Virgin Tour, Blond Ambition & Re - Invention Tours on dvd. Definetly The Virgin Tour, I've seens clips on YouTube and it was absolutly fantastic! Shame it's only available on video, I do have a video player, but DVD's are much better :D
