Also, they won't always playlist a OA/OS release as soon as it does get released, there's at least another week or two for Madonna and M.I.A. to be added yet...
I entered this song to BJSC :D

(But it didn't qualify - TBF I forgot to vote so it might have qualified if I had voted - I don't think so though).

Nope, even with me giving it 12 points, it would have still fallen short had you voted. Wonderful song though, surprised me seeing it on there. (The one time I take notice of the BBC Introducing section, and it's the only thing that interested me this week)

I don't think Madge's age really comes into it. Sure, she's old, but she's still relevant. As recently as 2009 she had a #3 and in 2008 she had a multi-week #1 and it's not like anyone really cares about the difference between 49/50 and 53.

She might be relevant but unfortunately radio 1 IS agist. They did not add Celebration till later and even then it was C list or something. And overall they hardly played it, at least i never heard them playing it, not even once. Madonna achieved the no3 with nil help from Radio 1, thank you.

So thats Scissor Sisters and Madge not getting r1 support in 2012...big artists!
I really don't get people complaining about certain artists not being playlisted. Simply turn off Radio 1.

That's totally missing the point. They need to be playlisted to SELL. This is the chart forum.

I'd hardly call the Scissor Sisters in 2012 big stars.

They snubbed Britney last year, they're snubbing Madonna this year?!?!?!? WTF!

"Hold It Against Me" was A-Listed on Radio 1, but as soon as the video premiered, commercial radio dropped the song like a hot potato.

I think it's more worrying if Madonna isn't playlisted next week rather than this. She probably won't do any major promo for the album in the UK this month. A Jonathan Ross appearance should be on the cards since she's already done Norton for the "W.E." movie.

To be fair they gave Britney their best shot with HIAM. But after that they didn't see the point as it wasn't like she was going to bother over here.
They really are pushing 'You Da One' aren't they? I'm surprised they haven't moved on to 'Talk That Talk' already.

 Surprised to see a few flop follow up singles on the b-list there, didn't realise that some of those did get Radio 1 support :o With no iTunes chart back then, I was always more taken aback at shock flops that happened every now and then, as there was no inidication beforehand as to how they'd perform. As for Whitney, I'm sure the album version of It's Not Right...was the only one I ever heard here, and deservedly so imo. Still one of her most enduring songs in the UK, I often hear it...

It was very much a in with the new and the older artists hanging in there such as the manics, Witney and George Michael still popular in the charts!

Rich in not liking Soulsearcher, Billie and Jennifer Paige shocker :o

Over here I never heard the original of INRBIO, in fact I thought the remix was the original. A lot of people still do actually.

There was a video set to the Thunderpuss remix which would explain why.

You also never realise how old the Radio 1 Playlist makes you feel when you see a name like Tatiyana Ali on the list.

Like I said, I picked out only my absolute favourites to show what a great playlist it was. I 'like' those three songs but can't say that I love them, Billie in particular I was never a huge fan of, Honey To The Bee is probably my favourite song of hers and I still don't love it

But "Day & Night" is pop joy, and essentially the perfect sequel to Britney's "(You Drive Me) Crazy".
