It was only a matter of time before Nicki went down the generic dance route!

Especially with Turn Me On smashing. :( This album is going to be SO extreme. One minute there's Stupid Hoe and then there's Starships! I hope there's at least a few pure pop songs a la Super Bass in it. And one or two slow songs like M4L or Fly I guess.

I know. :( To be honest, since Super Bass was such a big hit, it was obvious. And then there's Where Them Girls At and Turn Me On (which went to #1 on US iTunes) aswell. Why on Earth a HIP HOP artist would do a song with RedOne, I'll never understand. He doesn't know anything about making beats for rapping.

Nicki will probably do better in the Hot 100 like this, but her album might miss #1 if it's full of pop songs, and that's all she releases as singles. The only reason her previous album went to #1 was because of Moment 4 Life being a single. It's always the slower, more lyrical and meaningful singles that sell albums, not the generic club songs (which is why Taio Cruz, Flo Rida and Pitbull never sell albums, because that's the only thing they release!).

 7. Next to Me - Emeli Sandé :drama:

 64. Starships - Nicki Minaj

For anyone who cares, One Direction are up to #18 on US iTunes and increasing rapidly with pretty much no airplay or promotion at all. WMYB is going to be absolutely MASSIVE over there once its airplay gets going.

One Direction in doing well with on air, on sale release SHOCKER! :o

And it would be so much higher aswell if it wasn't for the Whitney Houston, Grammys, and soon to be Glee Cast invasions. It probably would've gone top 10 on iTunes if they released it last week.

910. Crazy Frog - Axel F - Good longevity for this song.

WHO,and I feel the need to repeat this, WHO is buying this?

Thanks. Still climbing. Up to #12 now.

Does anyone have any idea when Katy Perry - Part Of You is getting a release here?

Despite Gotye away to re-climb to number 2, Emeli is actually increasing on Dj Fresh.

01. Dj Fresh - Hot Right Now 100%

02. Emeli Sande - Next To You 98.4%

Emeli Sande should be combined by early tomorrow morning, meaning she has over 3 and a half days to build up momentum. I prefer it when the chart battles are much more intresting than predictable.

I think every chart enthusiast does.

Remember the stale and predictables charts around May last year? They were so tedious. I like really unpredictable #1 battles like when 'Poker Face' first got to #1 in 2009 and it was so out of the blue that week (I think GaGa was at #3 in the Friday midweeks). :o

I would say one of the most intresting weeks of a chart battle was The Saturdays & Flo Rida. Although I would have liked The Saturdays being a predictable number one!

Lil Wayne in the top 20 now :cheer: And Rolling In The Deep STILL climbing!

[40] 47| Madonna ft. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A. - Give Me All Your Luvin'

This seems to be doing far worse here than anywhere else - I wonder why?

Because it sounds dreadful? :P

Because it's not getting much promotion I'd say (the Superbowl is really not a big deal here), and AFAIK there's no rapless edit for Radio 2 or commercial stations.
Next to me is already number 1... let's see if this is gonna be enough for her... she has already a 5% lead and she's got 4 days left...

No it isn't - DJ Fresh's extended mix keeps it ahead (just) and he's still got his EP at #10.

Yeah, it's a shame, as I think it's quite good. We discussed this before aswell, but I think it's just because UK radio stations aren't playing the song, whilst everywhere in the world the radio stations still play Madonna.

This was also the case with What do You Take Me For? by Pixie Lott. Artists like Pixie and Madonna get a lot of support from those stations usually, so you'd think they'd realize how important they are for their success. I imagine Madonna probably doesn't care, being an International artist, with much more to worry about than whether she's getting played on Heart FM, but Pixie is a UK-based artist, so you think she'd realize that. I was so pissed off that What Do You Take Me For? only got to #10. :(

It's out in the other countries I think, but California Gurls and Teenage Dream got held back, so I think we'll have to wait a while.

Usher and Chris Brown should have new songs out soon too. Usher's song is really good, although I think most of Buzzjack will complain that it's too boring. Chris Brown's song is just a re-hash of Yeah 3x tbh.

I am definately not looking forward to hearing those songs tbh :drama: We really don't need ANOTHER generic tune from Chris Brown being a massive hit. :puke: And I don't like boring Usher songs either. We need another OMG or Yeah from him.

 45 Nicki Minaj - Starships

She is doing amazingly :o Maybe top 10?

EDIT: 30 Minutes later she's up to #33!

Not only will Fresh and Sande sell near 100k this week but does anyone else not think the Gotye will once again increse its sales from 82k to nearer 90k?
