February 12, 201213 yr As Mr. De Backer is from Belgium (and holds also Australian passport IIRC), are there any other Belgian number ones? I was going to say Technotronic had a #1, but they just had two #2s (like a mini Sash!) I'm sure there must have been at least one before though. Or maybe not :o Looking through the Wikipedia list of Belgian musicians. EDIT: 2 Unlimited are partially Belgian, they had a #1 hit with 'No Limit'. EDIT2: Room 5 (Make Luv in 2003) is Italian-Belgian. (Born in Italy though). Edited February 12, 201213 yr by Bré
February 12, 201213 yr The Madonna Single looks set to be her least successful Lead Single, for a New Album - ever. At least in the UK. By Lead Single, I mean the one that is released to go with a New Album. I'm aware that in October 1982, Everybody flopped completely, & that ended up on the Madonna Album. But, that Album was not released here until February 1984, & Holiday was really the Lead Single with that, & that Single was a No.6 Hit, that Year. As Mick Jagger is on a Top 5 Single, at the same time that Paul McCartney is on a Top 5 Album, I thought that I'd do some Chart Statistics, regarding this. Points C) & D) may sound contradictory - at first - but, they are not. You have to read them very carefully. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ CHART STATS RELATING TO THIS:, A) It is the first time - that either Act has been in the Singles Top 5 & Albums Top 5, at the same time, as credited Artists. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ B) Indeed, it is the first time ever, that Mick has been credited on a Hit Single, while Paul is credited on a Hit Album, at the same time. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ C) PAUL CREDITED HIT SINGLE - MICK CREDITED HIT ALBUM However - in the Charts of W/E 13th March 1993, Paul had a Hit Single, while Mick had a Hit Album. (It Peaked at No.12 on W/E 20th February 1993) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ D) MICK ON A HIT SINGLE - PAUL ON A HIT ALBUM The last time that Mick was on a Hit Single, while Paul was on a Hit Album was:, W/E 12th September 1987 SINGLES CHART - Mick entered the Chart with Let's Work - at No.60 (It Peaked at No.31 on W/E 10th October 1987) ALBUMS CHART - Paul was on The Beatles, (The White Album), at No.71. (This Re-Issue had Peaked at No.18, a Week earlier) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ E) TOP 10 - TOP TEN MICK SINGLE - TOP 10 PAUL ALBUM The last time that Mick was on a Top 10 Single while Paul was simultaneously on a Top 10 Album was:, W/E 29th September 1973 SINGLES CHART - Angie - The Rolling Stones - No.7 (Its 4th, & final Top 10 Week - having Peaked at No.5 for 2 Weeks) ALBUMS CHART - 1967 - 1970 (The Blue Album) - The Beatles - No.8 (It had Peaked at No.2 for 3 Weeks) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ F) TOP 10 - TOP 10 PAUL SINGLE - TOP 10 MICK ALBUM The last time that Paul was on a Top 10 Single while Mick was simultaneously on a Top 10 Album was:, W/E 26th June 1976 SINGLES CHART - Silly Love Songs - Wings - No.3 (It had Peaked at No.2) ALBUMS CHART - Black And Blue - The Rolling Stones - No.10 (Having Peaked at No.2 - for 2 Weeks) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ G) TOP 5 - TOP 5 MICK SINGLE - TOP 5 PAUL ALBUM Believe it or not, the last time that Mick was on a Top 5 Single, while Paul was on a Top 5 Album was:, W/E 15th October 1966 SINGLES CHART - Have You Seen Your Mother Baby, Standing In The Shadow - The Rolling Stones - No.5 (Its Peak) ALBUMS CHART - Revolver - The Beatles - No.2 (It had previously Peaked at No.1 - for 7 Weeks) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ H) TOP 5 - TOP 5 PAUL SINGLE - TOP 5 MICK ALBUM The last time that Paul had a Top 5 Single, while Mick had a Top 5 Album was:, W/E 3rd April 1971 SINGLES CHART - Another Day - Paul McCartney - No.4 (Having previously Peaked at No.2, for 2 Weeks) ALBUMS CHART - Stone Age - The Rolling Stones - No.4 (Its Peak) @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Edited February 12, 201213 yr by zeus555
