The Wanted (particularly Tom) have a habit of speaking without thinking. They'd do well to get a bit of media training if they're going to be in this industry for a long time.

He comes across as a brat to me. And her looks like he used to be a chav.

The Building Chart reflects the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week (which ends Sunday) as reported by six major merchants: iTunes, Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Starbucks, Target and Anderson Merchandisers. Billboard estimates that they make up about 85% of all U.S. album sales.
Billboard

may sell around 35,000 to 45,000 copies.

On course for about the same start is British vocal group the Wanted, with its self-titled U.S. debut.

I suppose #7 is ok. A bit embarrassing for them that One Direction are still Top 5 a few weeks in! However, a Top 10 album in the US is more than I'd ever have imagined for The Wanted.

But at end of the week Mraz and Nicki probably will beat TW, maybe even Gotye, and with average 60-70% decrease in the second week, they will need a few weeks to beat 1st week of 1d sale. imho having such a good promotion the wanted is a spectacular flop.

Neither of The Wanted's albums even went top 3 here so it's not really surprising that they're not challenging for #1 in the USA (especially as it's just an EP and not a 'full' album). Having said this I realise One Direction missed #1 here but got there in the USA.

If we said a year ago that The Wanted were going to be top 10 on the US album charts, i don't think anyone would have believed it

It's still an incredible achievement, even if they have done slightly worse than i would have Wanted.

I think it's a full album, not an EP. Also even though 1D didn't get a number 1 album in the UK and were beaten by Rihanna, she has never had a #1 album in America. Shows how incredible 1D are doing at the moment.

I get what you were trying to say, but if the music isn't seen as good enough by the public, no amt of media savvyness will help!

Like I said, that's NOT what I'm saying. It was a separate point entirely...

btw do you think that it's possible that 1D have already earned 10 mln pounds?

For Syco? Maybe, but I'd be surprised if it was that much. For themselves? Definitely not.

How many percent they might receive from their ticket, album, single sale? 10? 15?

They'll make a lot more touring than out of album sales and bonuses. I read somewhere that following the US success, each member was given 2mil$ (or was it 2mil GBP) by Cowell.
