I guess Amazing won't be everybody's cup of tea but I find it just that :D I really love the new Ria song, would be her second #2 if not for Eurovision/Melodifestivalen! It's a lot more melodic, tuneful and current than Over You, so catchy :wub: Nope, i didn't get Alyssa's album, just randomly read that this was the third single in Canada so downloaded it to have a listen, it's decent enough. Embarrassingly, Justin Bieber has had about 5 or 6 hits in my chart over the years, none of them were huge mind :lol: I always forget that Rocketeer even existed, in my mind FEM are a one hit wonder so far :drama: I'd agree with your BJSC views, nothing screams WIN but I think Botanikka (or maybe Tinnmark) will get it, even though they wouldn't on any other month perhaps.

 

Ah, Alyssa's album isn't that strong to be fair, good choice of 3rd single though, only possible single left on the album I think, the rest of the good tracks are clearly ones meant to stay on the album (Go, XO, Live To Tell). I don't hate Bieber, it's just he doesn't appeal for the most part. Rocketeer has stuck in my mind a lot more than Like A G6, simply because I was obsessed for a little while, and it's by far the best track on their album (Yes, I did get it. :lol:)

*checks his odds* I might be inclined to say that Tinnmark has inched ahead for me now, I can see it appealing to a wider range of people, being pop rather than dance, but in any case, I like it like this, less predictable. :lol: Although the last few contests haven't exactly had predictable winners...

4. Woo, I know it's not a particularly instant song, meaning that it probably wasn't the best choice of entry ever. That said, it's a bloody massive grower and hopefully people listen to the songs more than once, I absolutely love it, once I 'got it' I wondered how on earth I didn't find it catchy as hell the whole time. Let me know if you find out who it reminds you of in the verses, because I was sort of thinking the same thing but can't put my finger on it.

5. I agree, it would be a bigger hit for me than Over You if not for damn Melodifestivalen :P Brilliant song, I could see it becoming a Buzzjack favourite, if only it got a UK release and stormed up the top ten that is! As it is I'll just enjoy it by myself and hope that others discover it via my chart!

8. Indeed, it's a lovely song, and what I first tried to confirm. I'm very happy with Gossling though.

37. Another song that defines grower (honestly, are there ANY instant songs in this month's contest? :lol:). Lovely entry, the verses are very calming and the second half is brilliant.

46. I really think that it works as a two minute song. Shame he's not releasing it here next as I think it could scrape into the top 40, it's quirky enough.

65. I had a play count of 2 on it on my iTunes before BJSC so I must have played it when listening to the compilation it's on from start to finish but it obviously passed me by. It's good though, indeed VERY different to Why Start A Fire.

66. Quite possibly, I've never been big on this band (I saw them live supporting Katy Perry and they were horrible!) but I can't deny this song, it's quite infectious.

69. Begin To Hope was a big favourite of mine in 2007, she hasn't bettered it since but there have been moments of brilliance.

I might avoid it then, I do like the three singles though, I'm not sure that The Game charted for me but it got very close (and I gave you points in that contest iirc).

Yes I thought the same thing, I didn't expect Amazing to get as high as #2 for you actually, it's very much the 'in' sort of sound in the UK charts, and I very rarely notice any songs like these (Swedish House Mafia/David Guetta) racing up your chart :lol: Euphoria is FAR better, but kudos to Danny, this is easily my second favourite song around at the moment. Euphoria is just a phenomenon!

3. Apparently so, maybe another performance in the final will convince you of its charm? Admittedly it gets slightly less funny with each listen (as jokes do) but the song and production still stand up for me, hence it getting a second week in my top three.

30. I found it instantly charming, I really like it. I can't believe the AC result, I'd previously liked all 8 songs in the final to some extent but I can't stand either of those two :(

34. I'm a little surprised that she's looking set to not have a hit single this era to be honest, Madonna always gets at least one! I guess the download era has killed that for her, the album will surely still be #1 though, I just hope that it's good - and FAR better than Hard Candy!

47. I know exactly what you mean, I get to 2 minutes and think 'is this STILL going?'. I do really like it though, it has a nice chirpy melody and I'd like to see them in the final, even if it's by default by virtue of the stream of crap entries that keep getting confirmed :drama:

I thought you weren't so keen on Amazing :o Haha yes, what would a March Hit Parade be without an MF whitewash in the top three one week :wub: I really like Be My Guest, for once I'm hoping for Ukraine to be in the top ten, rather than groaning when they get into it with some crap song! COMPLETELY agree about Gotye, this is quirky and punchy enough (especially with the great video) to at least give him a second top 40 hit if it was the next single, Eyes Wide Open whilst decent is only about the 6th or 7th best song on the (brill) album imo and will sadly ensure that his one hit wonder fate comes true :(

 

Finland's entry is lovely, it was my only standout from the Finnish NF so I'm pleased that it somehow won! Will be a slow burner on my chart but will get up there eventually! Honestly I'd never liked The Asteroids Galaxy Tour before, I saw them live supporting Katy Perry in 2010 and thought that they were diabolical (I know you'd feel the other way round about these two acts :P). However, credit where it's due, Heart Attack is both a great song and a great BJSC entry. I'd avoided listening to it until now because of my past opinions on the band but this song has won me over and is another great Numayanian entry, possibly your third top five in a row!

 

Indeed, Nina's song is a bit of a wasted opportunity. I still think that Per Sempre will be another top ten for Italy but they had at least a few potential winners/top 3's amongst their various artists and San Remo. I'll see if I can find a (safe) link for the Lena album!

COMPLETELY agree about Gotye, this is quirky and punchy enough (especially with the great video) to at least give him a second top 40 hit if it was the next single, Eyes Wide Open whilst decent is only about the 6th or 7th best song on the (brill) album imo and will sadly ensure that his one hit wonder fate comes true :(

 

Finland's entry is lovely, it was my only standout from the Finnish NF so I'm pleased that it somehow won! Will be a slow burner on my chart but will get up there eventually! Honestly I'd never liked The Asteroids Galaxy Tour before, I saw them live supporting Katy Perry in 2010 and thought that they were diabolical (I know you'd feel the other way round about these two acts :P). However, credit where it's due, Heart Attack is both a great song and a great BJSC entry. I'd avoided listening to it until now because of my past opinions on the band but this song has won me over and is another great Numayanian entry, possibly your third top five in a row!

 

Indeed, Nina's song is a bit of a wasted opportunity. I still think that Per Sempre will be another top ten for Italy but they had at least a few potential winners/top 3's amongst their various artists and San Remo. I'll see if I can find a (safe) link for the Lena album!

I read in the paper earlier that Dappy wanted to cover Somebody That I Used To Know with Jessie J and release it as a single before Gotye got there. The record company said that he wasn't allowed as they'd just signed Gotye - thank GOD that never happened, and justice prevailed with Gotye preventing the awful Rockstar from being a #1! I know right, Rockstar is like an even weaker version of No Regrets, and Brian May really needs to think about what he's doing to not destroy his own legacy (the Live Lounge version of We Will Rock You was LITERALLY heresy). Just checked it out, fantastic video indeed! You never know, they could change their mind...

Indeed, I really thought that Radio 2 at least would pick up New Age :o I wasn't expecting Aura to be promoted here though tbh, I Will Love You Monday never got a push here, nor did some of the great big German hits of the last few years (If A Song Could Get Me You, Jungle Drum etc...) which could have been big here with promotion that it never received. Haha, I KNOW, I was horrified to read that. I only heard a clip of that Live Lounge performance on the chart show but it was an utter abomination, as if 5ive and Queen wasn't bad enough already! I'd love them to change their mind but I can't see it somehow, short of it blowing up in Australia very soon somehow.

 

I might give the album a miss, or check it out on Spotify first :lol: Indeed, I think her voice is more 'special' in the verses, it's very syrupy, for want of a better word. It sounds more normal in the choruses though, which is where the song really comes alive :wub: I think most of its fans aren't in my semi tbh but hopefully it's strong enough to qualify on its own merits!

Yes I thought the same thing, I didn't expect Amazing to get as high as #2 for you actually, it's very much the 'in' sort of sound in the UK charts, and I very rarely notice any songs like these (Swedish House Mafia/David Guetta) racing up your chart :lol: Euphoria is FAR better, but kudos to Danny, this is easily my second favourite song around at the moment. Euphoria is just a phenomenon!

3. Apparently so, maybe another performance in the final will convince you of its charm? Admittedly it gets slightly less funny with each listen (as jokes do) but the song and production still stand up for me, hence it getting a second week in my top three.

30. I found it instantly charming, I really like it. I can't believe the AC result, I'd previously liked all 8 songs in the final to some extent but I can't stand either of those two :(

34. I'm a little surprised that she's looking set to not have a hit single this era to be honest, Madonna always gets at least one! I guess the download era has killed that for her, the album will surely still be #1 though, I just hope that it's good - and FAR better than Hard Candy!

34 - She must do. Looking at the productions credits for the album, it certainly seems like there's a large possibility there will be better tracks on there though, as William Orbit has produced a number of them!

BTW, I beg to differ about the Alyssa album, I love it to bits. :P The 6 weeks at #1 (so far) on my Album Chart should explain that. ;) But yeah, definitely worth checking it out!
