The Voice. :D

The Voice obviously :P, Wasn't interested in Britain's Got Talent when it started and now I actively despise it.

Yep, watched the whole of The Voice and quite enjoyed tonight's first show.

Britain's Got Talent has a tried (sorry, typo...TIRED) and tested formulae. Although from what I did see, the Welsh boys chior were very good in all fairness. Just too much emphasis on crap acts as per usual...and they still put some of them through!!!

BGT can be really predictable. It was obvious from the beginning that the fat lad and his friend were going to be good. The only tense bit was whether the two Welsh lads would be buzzed off before the rest of the choir joined them
BBC One's new singing contest averaged 8.43m (37.6%) between 7pm and 8.20pm, peaking with 9.6m (42.3%) at 7.45pm.

Notably, The Voice has premiered with a much higher audience than The X Factor in 2005 and Britain's Got Talent in 2007.

Britain's Got Talent kicked off its sixth series with 9.43m (39.2%) from 8pm, adding 567k (2.5%) on ITV1 +1 for Simon Cowell's return to the judging panel.

The ITV talent show peaked with 10.93m (44.9%) as the first auditions show came to a close.

During the pair's much-anticipated 20-minute clash between 8pm and 8.20pm, The Voice UK easily came out on top with 8.9m (36.2%) against Got Talent's 6.71m (27.3%)

Very good for the BBC then as they won during the over-lap even if BGT got more viewers on average and it shows that The Voice could potentially grow over time though I don't know much about when The X Factor & Britain's Got Talent launched and what caused them to increase after.

As I read in the Radio Times or somewhere else, the 8-9pm hour has a much higher overall audience available than the 7-8pm one, so those are great figures for The Voice UK, especially as it won the overlap! :D
That's great :D It seemed a lot of people were like me then, not bothered at all about just missing 20 minutes of BGT in the overlap. Wasn't expecting it to beat BGT in the overlap though, of course BGT had more peak viewers and average viewers but it's promising that The Voice opened with more than BGT and X-Factor did when they premiered.
I like the concept of the Voice more. Especially that they don't put through stupid acts just for good tv.

Which is exactly what happened last night on BGT. The exact moment I lost all interest in the show (for those wondering, they put a man through after he butchered 'Bring Me To Life' wearing some daft outfit that expanded over 3 minutes).

If that's called "talent", then I will audition next year. My skill? Biting my fingernails to some dramatic tense music. Oh yeah!!! :w00t:

If you can make some sort of sound effect while doing so you'll probably get through.
