March 11, 201213 yr Another GLORIOUS Slovenian entry  I can't tell if you're serious or not  But I do have a soft spot for Oberkrainer Rock (the German version). Just looking through the list, who the bloody hell is Robert Wells? :o

March 11, 201213 yr Työlki ellää failing to reach the final still pains me to this day :( Me too :( The performance was such fun!
March 11, 201213 yr Author Työlki ellää failing to reach the final still pains me to this day :( The thought that it got 25 points less than the Russian monstrosity makes me SICK :( Edited March 11, 201213 yr by Caïn
March 11, 201213 yr My thoughts on 2010; - Slovenia was absolutely vile, sorry Silas, it's an Andreas Johnson situation here, but I'm on the other side this time :drama: - Ireland's entry was gorgeous, as was Norway's (although not quite as great despite ripping off the same song), shame neither brought the vocals on the night, far from it in fact :/ Oh, and Norway should have sent A1, definitely wouldn't have ended up shamed in the bottom five. - Spain got to perform twice, lucky bugger. I must admit that I didn't notice the stage invasion on the first performance, I thought it was all part of his ridiculous act! - Belgium REALLY deserved 2nd place overall, not just in the jury vote. Gorgeous song, and a sure precursor for my Ed Sheeran love. - France should have been top ten (I say this EVERY year, what's going on Europe?), what a Euro anthem! Wasn't it an unofficial World Cup song or something? Nice cross promotion  - Was the Russian entry a joke to see if they could qualify with the worst thing ever? It wasn't quite but not far off, awful by Russia's usual high standards though. - Seriously Sweden, I get the obsessing over Loreen, and Eric etc...but what was SO great about This Is My Life that it was allowed to walk the Melodifestivalen final? Great song for sure but not worthy of the hysteria that it somehow whipped up in Sweden. Keep On Walking and Kom were cruelly denied a chance to shine :( - Teenage middle aged woman Sieneke and her Dutch fairground anthem was quite a strange moment! - Oh god, our entry was one of our worst ever. The sad thing is that Josh was actually the best in our hideous national final, would the other two acts have got us nul points with that dated holiday camp mess of a song? Probably. Katie Melua's The Flood would have been top five for us! Damn you BBC. - I still have a lot of love for Butterflies, the accents and gimmicks were awful and tacky but there's actually a very charming song underneath all of that. - In A Moment Like This is very anthemic, but I've made my thoughts clear enough on the dire duo in charge of presenting the song. Thank god it tailed off after its opening two 12's. Carola and Andreas Johnson would have done it better, after all it was hardly that far removed from One Love melodically. - Oh Safura, everything was lined up for her to give Azerbaijan their first win but they'd have to wait a year, I love Drip Drop but I did find it mildly hilarious to see it finish 5th, seeing as it was supposed to be walking it. The sad thing is, I like it FAR more than I like Running Scared. - Hera  What an absolute anthem, the 'how do you NOT know who I am?' swimming pool music video was one of my favourites of 2010, inspired! - Lena, go for gold! And that she did! For the second year in a row my easy favourite won the contest despite the naysayers across Buzzjack and of course Keith Mills. It was no coincidence that it was already charting well across Europe BEFORE the contest had even begun. I may only have found it average on first listen but this was the first ever instance of a Eurovision song topping my end of year chart, hearing the studio version for the first time was magic. No other 2010 entry even finished in my EOY top 30 and I was amazed that Germany had finally found another winner 30 years after the first. Don't get me started on the whole 'released in the UK days after the contest' affair though, #30 is a much lesser peak than it should have got. My 11th favourite song of all time, officially!
March 11, 201213 yr  The thought that it got 25 points less than the Russian monstrosity makes me SICK :( I'm sure it was one of the comfortable qualifiers in the televoting wasn't it? I seem to recall the horrendously average Bosnian entry stealing Finland's place :( .
March 11, 201213 yr Author I'm sure it was one of the comfortable qualifiers in the televoting wasn't it? I seem to recall the horrendously average Bosnian entry stealing Finland's place :( . Yeah, I just consulted wiki and it came 6th with the voters. SIXTH DAMNIT. Have no idea why juries would sink that ship! :drama: First of all, the 'Thunder and Lightning' performance was LIFE-CHANGING. And, second, it was Moldova who ruined everything.
March 11, 201213 yr Oh. My. God. I completely forgot about that 'Je ne sais quoi' video *.* 10,000 views of this (at least) are from me; XB8V0fjDuog HOW did this song flop so hard in the final? :( It's things like this that make me worry slightly for Loreen, I know they're hardly the same but they share a lot of similar synths and effects.
March 11, 201213 yr I have SO MUCH MORE TO SAY on Je Ne Sais Quoi but it will have to wait for my extended write-up (COMING SOON)

Have no idea why juries would sink that ship! :drama: First of all, the 'Thunder and Lightning' performance was LIFE-CHANGING. March 11, 201213 yr Speaking of 'Je ne sais quoi', I heard it last night in the kitchen on my floor. It was somebody's ringtone. :D
