I disagree. It has a solid 2.5+ lead-in throughout and at the end it wasn't getting above 2.0 (or even getting a bump from DH's increase). It also had TONS of buzz and press thanks to the controversy from religious groups. It just wasn't enough in the end.

Shame but at least we got several great episodes out of it. I'm only sad there was no fantastic final scene with Blake and Cricket.

Erm, it was doing better than Scandal considering its lead in and that got renewed... Scandal also airs after GA's much bigger lead in, and it hasnt been mistreated - airing all its episodes after an original episode of GA. GCB was doing fine until they started airing it after repeats, after a flop movie, moved around to a different timeslot, and going off for a week when the week before it aired 2 episodes in a row. That IS stupid scheduling.

10 episodes is NOT many episodes. 22 would be.

ugh first TSC and now GCB. I think i'm done with new shows really. No point.

Toys out of pram much?

Social networking is hardly a good indicator. Gossip Girl rules the social networks yet sees a 0.6 on a good day.

Toys out of pram much?

I dont care. I'm allowed to be annoyed. It wouldnt be an issue if all my favorite new shows didnt get cancelled every.single.year.

Surprise surprise. That was pretty much DoA! I still haven't actually gone beyond ep3, I liked it, but it got pushed to the back of my must watch list.

But why should they care about retention? Bottom line is the 18-49 figure and Scandal was getting better numbers than GCB which tailed off toward the end of its run. And like I said GCB had more press and media attention than virtually any other show this year. Every show takes breaks. Scandal only hasn't because its run is so short.

Are You There Chelsea and GCB (I still have three episodes to watch though) were great. RIP :'(

NIKITA RENEWED. WT ACTUAL F?!

ABC has also renewed: Last Man Standing, Apartment 23, Private Practice and firmly in the wtf column is the 13 ep pick up for Body Of Proof.

Official confirmation of Pan Am, Missing and The River being cancelled.

L O f***ING L at Body Of Proof getting another season!! Apparently 'it's big overseas' which is basically the new 'oh but they are BIG IN ASIA'. It does sadden me though that of all the big ABC shows I love, only GCB got canned when really I'd have happily seen the back of a few others to save it.
Some odd decisions from ABC, NBC and CW - I can't imagine why they would pick up 'Body of Proof', 'Up All Night' OR 'Nikita' (although I'm pleased for the latter just because its fans love it so much :P). Delighted that 'Parks' will make it to at least 90 episodes and wondering what the point of 13 episodes is for BOP meaning it'll need a 4th AND 5th season to get to 88 and considering it has fallen below 1.5 before I can't imagine ABC tolerating it much longer....
With 13 episodes BoP could have most of its episodes following DWTS (assuming it keeps its current slot) and it always got a 1.9/2.0 then so it's no quite as baffling a decision I guess. I am a FAN but it really is a laughable show, I mainly just watch for the LOLZ at this stage.

BoP must be destined for a post DWTS run as it was hitting 1.2s in the fall.

The only cancellation I'm not happy about thus far is GCB. Little bummed about TSC but the last episode I saw was like the 7th an it fell way down the queue.

TSC's dismissal actually upsets me. The thing was they left it too long to actually get GOOD. The acting was horrendous at first, and gradually got better. I also think a lot of people failed to recover from one of the main cast being killed off so early (I think it did wonders for the show). It was basically a hot mess until the back 9 which have blown TVD's third season out of the water. By then though, the damage was done. I haven't watched HOD but it looks DREADFUL. Least everything else I watch has gotten through unscathed :D

Nikita has obviously been renewed to avoid sacrificing anything else to Friday night, though now they've renewed it for a third, they're stuck with it for a fourth, if they want to reach syndication.

I count 12 shows for the CW next year, so 2 for midseason (most probably Cult & Gossip Girl.

Body of Proof surprises me as well. I smell Friday night for that.

I'm really gutted about Ringer but it was expected :( surprised about 'The Secret Circle' it was getting consistent 0.7's but because of the two-week break they had last month, it sort of killed it in a way and started getting 0.5's :drama:

But 'Nikita' over 'The Secret Circle' seriously?!?! I tried watching 'Hart Of Dixie' but the pilot episode felt like it was going on forever so I stopped after that.

So gutted about GCB and The Secret Circle. I loved those shows. :( :(
For the first time ever all of my fav shows have been renewed! I'm so happy especially for Nikita as I thought it was a goner.
Doesn't Nikita have quite a devoted little fanbase? I'm not quite why they kept it, unless they're hoping to pair it up Green Arrow or whatever action-esque new show they have.
