Classics is a bit much... it'll only be classics in the Eurovision cycle of songs. Just like you can get R&B classics, dance classics etc. but they aren't like all-time classics are they? They're just more decent in their own circle. For me, 95% of Eurovision songs just sound like outdated ideas with a tacky gimmick - which is actually just about right...

What a way to FALL IN MY ESTIMATION.

I wish people would just listen to at least more than FIVE songs from each year before actually judging THE WHOLE THING.

sorry boo :( I DO WATCH IT EVERY YEAR THOUGH RELIGIOUSLY whether or not I find it shite. It's such a good laugh at the end of the day x

I agree with everything x leww has said.

I'm a huge fan of Eurovision as a contest but 80-90% of the songs are usually very bad. This is very good. But doesn't mean it is going to be a smash success or even win the contest. Good songs don't always win, songs that are the least disliked usually do.

The performance is her asset but imagine if she has to perform SECOND.

omg if you also watch Semifinals, then you can officially call yourself a Eurovision fan, whether you like it or not :heehee:

It's just like me and the UK charts too! I hate most of the songs but I still take a look each week. :D

She's in the second half of the Semifinal 2. :D She'll need some luck when drawing the Final position though indeed.

I don't watch the semifinals but that's because I don't really know where to begin?! Every single country throwing like 10 songs out there... it's all so ~overwhelming~. Where do you even watch it?

Indeed. I watch the final every year, but not for the quality of the songs. Even most of the recent winners have been technically dreadful songs

I gave this a listen after seeing all the random signatures everywhere but man... Pure cheese.

No thanks.

Do you not know what Eurovision Semifinals are?! :o Nowadays it's two Semis held on Tuesday and Thursday and a grand Final on Saturday, containing ~25/26 songs (10 qualifiers from each of the SFs and 5/6 autoqualifiers).

Oh I was thinking of the wrong thing, MY BAD. But no I've not really been clued in to anything but the contest since I was younger and that's all I've really watched! Is it worth watching for someone who isn't a LOON per se but does love a bit of the ESC?

It is because sometimes the really good ones are the ones to disqualify for one reason or another.

But the quality in general is very hit and miss.

I consider them as a warm-up.

Euphoria is #1 again on Finnish iTunes, btw

Would you say Marina - Radioactive is pure cheese? It's hardly a million miles away...

Semifinals is a very important part of Eurovision! :o If you lived in a country that doesn't autoqualify for the Final every year, you'd know what I mean!

Agreed, it's pretty terrible.

"Forever and ever together"

If 'Radioactive' had that awful Celine Dion chorus then yes. But it doesn't.

Still, not 'rarely'. I would add Serbia and Ukraine to that list, and we have 7 great winners.

Yeah i forgot Ukraine. "Wild Dances" was a deserved winner but not Serbia.. I think that Russia and Belarus had better songs than Marija..

Can't argue with that as I also rank Russia (Belarus doesn't just have a winning sound, as much as i like it) higher than Serbia, but I still think Marija desevred to win
