Part III - who by?

Skylar Grey, it's the original demo taken from one of her EPs and it's the version that was performed on American Idol.

Part III - who by?

Skylar Grey - she made the original demo for the song and released it for some reason.

EDIT: Beaten to it!

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this topic, but i was just wondering...

I think she's wonderful and am pretty sure "Next to me" in particular will smash there. :)

fun. are still only at 0.5 of Gotye :o I thought they would have climbed back to at least 0.7 or so by now!

In fact they did climb back to 0.6 but Gotye has pulled away again since.

There's only one song by American acts only in the entire top 8 at the moment:

1 Gotye/Kimbra = a Belgian-born Australian and a New Zealander

2 fun./Janelle Monáe = all Americans

3 One Direction = 4 members from the UK, 1 from Ireland

4 Justin Bieber = Canadian

5 Carly Rae Jepsen = Canadian

6 Flo Rida/Sia = an American and an Australian

7 The Wanted = 4 members from the UK, 1 from Ireland

8 Nicki Minaj = Trinidadian

I'm blinded by the maturity.

I think if you call Gotye a Belgian-born Australian then Nicki Minaj is a Trinidadian-born American surely? They both moved into Australia and USA respectively when they were little.

Still, that's a very Unamerican top 10!

I selectively ignored Nicki Minaj's move to the USA to suit my point better  You have a point though. Even if you ignore Nicki though, there is still only one entirely American song in the top 7 and 5 of the top 7 are entirely by non-American artists.

She has yes since she's gaining quite a bit over on airplay as well.

Well, according to HDD Somebody That I Used To Know sold 500k+ last week!

SOMEBODY THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Lionel Richie wasn't the only act seeing a huge reaction to TV appearances this week. Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" rolls well past the 500k mark for the week following his appearance on Saturday Night Live. Both song and album hit #1 over the weekend at iTunes and the Amazon MP3 chart. Monte Lipman's got himself another winner for Universal Republic. (4/16p)

:cheer: Surefire number 1?

That's.....nice :o. And it's not a debut week as well.

Gotye to sell more than Bieber did in his first week please :D I knew he'd have enormous sales, unbelievable that he's selling twice what an already massive-selling song (fun.) is!

I knew STIUTK was destined to be massive in the US just as it was in the UK :D

Ugh. Fuck off Maroon 5. (I haven't heard this new song yet but I haven't liked a single song by them yet so unless Adam Levine's voice is suddenly drastically altered I'm not going to like this either).

They're currently only at 0.75 so hopefully Gotye will hold them off #1.

It would be quite something if Maroon 5 got to #1 on iTunes, considering the rate at which Gotye is selling!!

Good to see Nelly Furtado and Timbaland both in the top 300 (and surprisingly on different songs for a change ).

The Maroon 5 song is interesting... The verses sound good imo, but when the "Payphone" bit kicks in, it's really cringe. Wiz's section sounds completely out of place and beat, but i like him so i guess i'll forgive him

45. B.o.B 'So Hard to Breathe'

It irritates me that the US get all these promotional singles leading up to an album, but the UK get very little (bar Lady Gaga). Instead we're made to wait for both the single and the album in the hope that it'll secure the artist a high-peaking first week position.
