I am srsly weirded out by seeing people like Nero doing well in the Hot 100 considering dance music was almost a Hot 100 taboo about five years ago...

At least out of the religious people I've met. I know hundreds of religious people, and I've never seen anybody do or say anything homophobic. Ever.

 

I know some religious people are homophobic, but I really don't think it's good grounds to accuse someone of that. Making sweeping generalisations against people because of their religion is bad, you know, in the same way that making sweeping generalisations against someone because of their sexual orientation is bad.

There was a decent amount of dance/electropop music in the Hot 100 five years ago. Maybe like 8 years ago (in 2004), it was hardly ever there, that was because the Hot 100 was basically an airplay chart at the time. But since they included digital downloads, they started coming back gradually (and of course Timbaland, etc.). I agree, it's sooo weird seeing stuff like Nero there though!

At 4:32 AM EST, it was reported that Gotye had shot himself in the head with a 9mm handgun. He was pronounced dead at 4:45 AM, and the investigation concluded that the cause of death was suicide. It was confirmed shortly after by family and friends. He was quickly taken to the Central Montmorency Hospital, but died from his injuries shortly after. His family has stated that they plan a closed funeral.

If true, that is completely revolting and unacceptable. But thankfully, cognitive disonance will not be necessary for me because I think Owl City's latest song is absolutely godawful. Kinda like Chris brown, as someone mentioned before... He made it easy since everything he has released since beating the shit out of Rihanna has been absolutely awful.

Some religious people? I think that the root cause of most homophobia stems from religion :S Or, at least, it's often the crutch used to prove it as wrong. I think the reasons behind it are a lot more complex. I mean whatever if u like the song u like the song (I like Chris Brown's Look @ Me Now even if he himself is vile) so it's really w h a t e v e r
