I guess the appeal is in the lack of ads, but I think people overreact to ads on YouTube a bit, they're normally only 5 seconds and then skippable but if not they're 30 seconds max, not really a big deal. YouTube has to make money from somewhere.

The ads are SO easy to get around though. Install Adblock and you'll never see an add on YouTube again.

I love Adblock.

I can't use Youtube on my phone, but I can use some streaming sites (Spotify, etc.), so maybe something to do with that?

Anyway, here's the new Digital Songs top 10:

1 [1] fun. feat. Janelle Monáe - We Are Young 387k (up 11%)

2 [4] Gotye feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know 208k (up 25%)

3 [2] The Wanted - Glad You Came 183k (up <1%)

4 [*] Taylor Swift - Eyes Open 176k (NEW)

5 [3] Nicki Minaj - Starships 174k (up 1%)

6 [6] Flo Rida feat. Sia - Wild Ones 168k (up 6%)

7 [7] One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful 164k (up 21%)

8 [5] Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) 151k (down 7%)

9 [9] Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe 138k (up 12%)

10 [8] Train - Drive By (down <1%)

Good to see most of these increasing. The Wanted finally back on the up and Gotye finally increasing at a nice pace. Kelly can fall though, really bored of WDKY(S). Drive By barely decreased at all.

fun.'s sales are really bordering the unmatched now - it's the second highest sales week in SoundScan history that wasn't a debut week or a gift card effect/Grammy effect boost.

But how many viruses come with it?

I think its safe to say already, that WAY will be this years biggest seller.

We Are Young must also be breaking some sort of record for most weeks over 300,000. I think Love the Way You Lie and E.T. had a lot, but not much else springs to mind.

I agree that it's very likely to be the year-end #1.

I would imagine none. My computer seems OK and I've had Acblock for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. One of the main reasons I got Firefox was it's one of the only browsers with Adblock as an add-on.

I'll be sure to check the ad block out. The ads are irritating at times so it will be rather useful for me :D

Looks like Taylor Swift is losing some of her steam as well. She usually fares much better digitally the first week.

Maybe Fun might actually manage to hold onto number one this week, For Justin Bieber to go number one, he would need to outsell Fun by over 100,000 I believe.

01. Justin Bieber - Boyfriend 100%

02. Fun - We Are Young 67% (They Should Return To Number One On Friday :cheer:)

In one of the articles it said the highest Taylor Swift song got its 2nd highest sales week since 2009 or something. So one song did very well (the volume We Are Young is selling made it look like it was doing badly), and the other did quite poorly by Taylor's standards.

Eyes Open was Taylor's biggest opening since 'Back To December' - I think since then she had a few more 'countdown singles' from Speak Now, then all of its album tracks (:P) and If This Was A Movie/Ours/Superman which were finally released on iTunes months after the album came out. And Safe & Sound ofc, but that was released partway through a week if I recall correctly?

I think Safe & Sound was released on a Thursday or Friday.

The Wanted are performing on American Idol next week which is perfectly timed given how it's now dropping on iTunes (though did have a very slight sales increase).

Good GOD at Fun.'s sales. They deserve it in my opinion, hope they hold Biebs off.

Also, i don't think we should write WAY off as the year-end number #1 yet, remember last year with E.T/Rolling in the deep. :music:

The fact that JB is still #1 speaks a lot: the song has definitely broaden the borders for him.
