March 27, 201213 yr Ooh, Adele to return to #1 again please :kink: Although I think it's just a bad update for THG and it'll still end up well ahead.
March 27, 201213 yr That is a bad update for THG [especially as that's just over 10% of the 150-175k it was predicted] and quite a gap but with is scoring the third biggest opening weekend in the US ever, surely it'll overcome that and get #1?

March 27, 201213 yr I hope Adele can get #1 at least once more. MDNA next week, I hope that clears 200k. What's after that then?
March 27, 201213 yr These part way updates really do not count for anything. Couldn't be more true. Ended up surpassing predictions. Still find it quite odd though.. Not a bad drop (position wise) for One Direction at all. I hope Adele can get #1 at least once more. MDNA next week, I hope that clears 200k. What's after that then? Nicki Minaj.

March 27, 201213 yr 1 4 ONE DIRECTION SYCO/COLUMBIA 54,679 -69% UP ALL NIGHT That's a pathetic drop... I was thinking at least 80-90K. However, I do believe this album will pick up and sell consistently till the rest of the year. Are people really thinking MDNA will clear 200K? Is that estimate based on pre-orders?
March 27, 201213 yr Author These part way updates really do not count for anything. I think it tracks how sales have gone over the 1st few days - well, that's how Billboard's building sales chart works. Not sure if HDD is the same (probably is).
March 28, 201213 yr That's a pathetic drop... I was thinking at least 80-90K. However, I do believe this album will pick up and sell consistently till the rest of the year. Are people really thinking MDNA will clear 200K? Is that estimate based on pre-orders? It not a pathetic drop at all. Talk about being OTT. Seems pretty normal based on recent drops from new entries at number one, esp from a debut act. Chill out
March 28, 201213 yr britster, the Hits Daily Double chart is created by gathering weekly sales reports from a variety of sources. The percentage refers to the percentage of reports that have been processed for that week's chart. Hits Daily Double usually has a brief report on Wednesdays about "one-day sales" that contains estimates for full-week sales for new releases.
March 28, 201213 yr That's a pathetic drop... I was thinking at least 80-90K. However, I do believe this album will pick up and sell consistently till the rest of the year. Are people really thinking MDNA will clear 200K? Is that estimate based on pre-orders? If you actually do your research you'll find that it's very common for albums to suffer drops of ~65% in their second week so 1D are only slightly above the (IIRC) average and considering that most of their first week sales will have came from a pre-established internet fanbase it was actually very impressive to only register a 69% drop. They'll obviously stabilise as What Makes You Beautiful picks up.
March 29, 201213 yr Are people really thinking MDNA will clear 200K? Is that estimate based on pre-orders? Madge’s Interscope debut, MDNA, her 12th studio album and first under a recently inked deal with Live Nation, is her first new collection in four years, since 2008’s Hard Candy. It’s a lock for #1 on next week’s HITS Album sales chart, with between 325-350k, beating that album’s 280k opening.
