Oh, so I have... :teresa: I think I need to get my memory checked... :(

I'm glad I'm not the only person this happens to sometimes.

Green Light was well ahead of the Flo Rida song then. I doubt we will ever see Roll Deep at number 1 again

Their last single flopped REALLY badly. I remember Green Light got discounted to 59p the same week as was higher on iTunes most of the time. :drama: The song was essentially a re-hash of their 2010 hits though.

I think Flo Rida must've ended up at #3 that week, as I remember Eminem got #2 that week.

I really liked Green Light. I remember I ranked it in my top 10 songs of 2010 when it ended. 15 months onwards, I think my top 10 songs of 2010 would probably be very different to what I had at the end of 2010, but I think Green Light would still be very high up, as I listen to it a lot. I love the beat to it.

I agree that it's unlikely Roll Deep will ever get another #1, now that dance music is getting less popular.

And thank goodness for that.

I love Green Light, but when you look at the lyrics written down, they're quite cringe. Plus, each rapper only does like 4 lines, so they could've each written their verses in just a few minutes.

They are very talented rappers though, honestly.

Glee Top 100 Update:

 29. Glee Cast - Somebody That I Used To Know :o :D

 81. Glee Cast - Fighter

 98. Glee Cast - Hungry Like The Wolf/Rio

Bit late on the train but I can't believe Azealia finally made the top 10. I feel like a proud parent.

(just as I'm getting bored of it though)

Breathe Carolina aren't too far off the #10, although of course Carly's still-massive lead will still be having quite a significant crushing effect there (and in any case Jessie/David will probably overtake before it has a chance to go top 10 anyway).

Glee at #29 - okay, it definitely will go top 100 now :P None of the others this week will though. STITK could be the second highest peaking song from series 3 - there's no chance of it beating or even getting close to the #35 peak of 'Rumour Has It / Someone Like You' but could easily beat the #56 peak of 'We Are Young'.

How do songs decrease on itunes? do the sales get deducted or what?

Well, the popularity bars are a measure of relative sales, rather than absolute, e.g. if the #1 is double that of the #2, there's no way to tell if their sales are 80k v 40k, or 40k v 20k. Effectively therefore, they only indicate how sales are shifting relative to the songs around them.

Did anyone else hear Alexandra Burke's new single Let It Go? #Tune :)
I love it too, it's a lot more accessible than Elephant, more euphoric and most importantly sounds more like her and definitely has more hit potential. As long as radio actually get on board BEFORE release this time, I think she has a #1 on her hands.

I've never really understood what 'accessible' means in a musical context?

01 (1.0000) Carly Rae Jepsen 'Call Me Maybe'

02 (0.6000) fun. 'We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae)'

03 (0.4000) Justin Bieber 'Boyfriend'

04 (0.3667) Usher 'Climax'

05 (0.3496) Nicki Minaj 'Starships'

fun. pulling away from Justin Bieber now - hoping that with another two days of downloading it can sell enough to début inside the top 3 (ideally at #2). The rest of the top 5 is looking static at the moment though, all three tracks are falling away from Jepsen, though 'Starships' is likely to benefit from the 'weekend effect' and overtake Usher and possibly Bieber come tomorrow.

LaserLight  #15 amazed by the speed this is climbing :o Album at #2 for Jessie too on iTunes.

'Let It Go' is a return to form after the sidetrack that was 'Elephant'. I'm sure radio will lap it up as IMO its quite like 'All About Tonight' and look at how well that did (On radio at least).

On another note I'm very pleased that FUN is still increasing. I'm hoping it can get to number 1 next week and beat that awful new Justin Bieber boy/child/lookalike/soundalike Conor Maynard
