I Think Cyprus will be the fan favourite that stalls in the semi. Shame because the studio version is great!

 

There is a chance unfortunately :( But Kati Wolf and Getter managed to sneak through last year so hopefully Ivi will do the same. I think Ivi's rehearsal looks and sounds better than Eleftheria's though :D

Absolutely loved Ukraine's rehearsal, the best staging I've seen so far I think! Sailing through to the final, and with a late draw Gaitana could bag herself a top 3 position just like Mika managed a top 5 last year with a late draw. Brilliant! :wub:

 

 

On the other hand, Bulgaria are goners going after this with their appalling presentation. She is just standing there on her own for a dance song. Such a shame as she sings it really well and it is a decent song.

^ I actually feel the opposite! Ukraine would be way better if they got rid of those dancers and had some backing vocalists instead. It kinda stays the same with just her singing it. And I really really hope Bulgaria DON'T use dancers! I think it's great with just her, although she needs to invest in a better outfit and a bra!

Bulgaria doesn't work at all. It's like walking into a nightclub when it's just opened, far too sparse for a dance track!

 

Serbia is looking strong, as is Portugal actually - I think they could be a surprise qualifier following the intrinsically dull performances from Malta and Belarus. Netherlands are looking strong, but that poor draw might see them slip into 11th place :( .

 

From yesterday I loved Moldova's rehearsal, there's no way that's missing the final and Jedward's prop is shockingly bad, but I think they'll just about make it through.

No. I am completely underwhelmed by that performance, not even joking. It lacks everything that the previous "live" performances of 'Euphoria' we have seen (presumably backing vocals), and if Loreen performs like that on the night, she's gonna do an Amaury Vassili.

Backing vocals are there - it's basically identical to the MF performance! All it's missing are the actual camera shots MF had, which we obviously aren't going to get in rehearsal, and Loreen's holding back on some of the lines.

I was thinking more of that recent live performance she did (can't remember what it was for, but there were a load of people sitting round in suits). It doesn't seem as strong at all; regardless of whether she's holding back on some of the lines or not... :(

I have to admit, I am very disappointed by that rehearsal and I'm very worried about Sweden's chances of winning now. Hopefully it'll look and sound better on the night, but right now even Georgia have alarmingly turned in a better performance.

Like most fan favourites in recent years Sweden has disappointed at rehersals - I really don't think its going to win, The eurogays love it but im not sure everyone else will.

It's still amazing and still winning. Loreen at 50% capacity is still head and shoulders above everyone else!

Seriously, listening again she completely slays it vocally for the first two minutes. The only difference is that she holds back for the final minute - as most do in rehearsal. What's everyone getting all het up about?

Like I said, maybe it'll look and sound better on the night, but the backing vocals clash with Loreen's, she mumbles the whole of the first verse, no money note like the one from The Voice before the final chorus, the dancing is even more frantic than usual, she's not lit up well at all... The list is endless.

 

They should have just gone with the performance from The Voice, it portrays the song far better.

I've not seen any of the other dress rehearsals because I don't particularly care for any of the other songs, but if she performs like that on the night I'd be pretty impressed! It wasn't perfect but then it was a rehearsal. I fully expect Loreen with 100% vocals, full production and proper camerawork to slay.

Yeah, she isn't too clear in her enunciation in the first verse, but she's done that before. I can barely HEAR the backing singers - where are they clashing?

 

On the money note - it'd be nice, and I hope she adds it, but at this point it really feels like we're getting a different version of Euphoria every time it's performed given she seems to insert different ad libs each time! It didn't stop her winning Melodifestivalen that she didn't have that either... The lighting's something we have to get used to as they won't let her do the entire performance in darkness, but I don't think that's going to be too much of an issue anyway. You're right on the dancing, but I just put that down to rehearsal. I don't think we've got that much to worry about.

 

I think we'll struggle a bit if we compare it with the performance from The Voice given that's probably one of the best live performances I've seen in years, but then I suppose that was to an audience already familiar. She could get away with adding loads of ad libs to it there, on the night most will be listening to the song for the first time and it might seem like it's overegging it a bit with too many ad libs like the The Voice performance had.
