Been following Billy Locketts story on socials, really rooting for him to chart tomorrow. It’s also been really interesting him (and his mum) announcing the sales each day. As of 4pm today he’d sold 1,208 CDs, 874 vinyl and 504 download lanyards had been activated so 2,586 sales - not including HMV or Rough Trade where he done signings or iTunes where he’s been at #1 for a few days this week (currently #2). Should be Top 65 at the least based on the direct sales they have got.

The bank holiday boost is over (for now) for RMI - down 5k on last Wednesdays figure but overall massively up week on week.

This - that is what is missing being with a label like BMG, most big labels would have been all over pushing the back catalogue.

Ariana sold 4,669 CDs and 3,493 vinyl for ‘Yes, and?’ - as there are 6 formats this time (believe 3 are the maximum that count towards the singles chart) would expect around 15k from physicals alone? If that’s the case she would ‘only’ need 35-40k from streaming to make it which she should sail past with ease.

CIM is such a moment - absolutely loved the performance on tour and the build up to it, and Slow was the perfect follow up.

I mean fair play to her if that’s what she’s chasing - not convinced it’s the best idea commercially after years in the wilderness and then having a smash hit with Brat to then want to return to diminished commercial success.

Disappointing start to the new era so far for Charli XCX. Rock Music #36 and 1 week in the charts, and SS26 probably looking at a similar week 1 position - glad they dropped physicals to give it a boost.

I really enjoyed it - I think the BTS parts in-between the songs made it more palatable to the general public. Hopefully it’s another Netflix success!
