It’s a shame that we have so many legendary artists who are under-certified because much of their sales pre 1994 aren’t recognised.

Would like to say RIP to Hanboo from UKMIX forum who had compiled the majority of the Madonna chart runs you see on the first page.

That's a big loss, we all used those at some point whether it's Madonna's info or someone else's.

How old was hanboo ?. Any idea of the cause ?.

True Blue could be in the top 100 album chart on Sunday as it's currently #25 on the first mid weeks and it's only 99p on google play.

Good to see it's been climbing throughout the week! Would be great if it could remain Top 20 on Sunday, but of course it's wonderful that it's 99% certain of Top 40.

True Blue re-enters the chart at #21! :cheer: Slight shame it just missed out on the Top 20 but great to see it back anyway.

Google Play's latest 99p download, Madonna's True Blue re-enters the chart at number 21. In the Top 75 for the first time since 1994, and at its highest position since 1987, the 1986 chart-topper sold 3,531 copies last week, raising its career tally to 1,997,015 - the highest of any Madonna studio album, although far fewer than 1990 compilation The Immaculate Collection, which has so far sold 3,665,068 copies.

Thanks for the info, I was surprised it was still top 200.

I think the 99p offer must have continued on the Sunday, the first day of sales. By the Friday update, it had actually sold only 3 copies the day before!

'Frozen' has sold 550k to date: http://www.officialcharts.com/features/pop...uccessful-9999/

Madonna isn’t known as the queen of reinvention for nothing. While you’re guaranteed a good variety of outfits at a Madonna-themed fancy dress party, there’s more to Madge than a collection of hairdos and eye-catching costumes.

Over the course of her career she’s flirted with dance, pop, rock, disco, R&B and, of course, musicals, but perhaps her most successful – and surprising – transformation was her 1998 comeback as trance-folk Earth mother.

Album Ray of Light and its atmospheric lead single Frozen saw Madonna shake off the glitz and slickness of previous campaigns and embrace a dancier, edgier sound – yet all still very radio-friendly.

It was a huge recipe for success: Frozen scored Madonna her first Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart in almost eight years. She was back with a vengeance and Ray Of Light was a global hit.

CHART FACT: Frozen was Madonna’s eighth Number 1, selling over 550,000 copies.
