April 26, 201213 yr Ellie top 50 :cheer: Lower than I expected but still great. Random fall for 1D? I'm guessing it's quite close around the top. Pity Christina's gone. ATY never QUITE took off but it did well to last so long. Edited April 26, 201213 yr by Umi
April 26, 201213 yr Yay for Ellie, Yay for Adele too given that RHI isn't selling that much but airplay keeps going higher and higher. I wonder if it it'll make top 10 or peak around 12'ish. Now, all eyes on Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sande as the next 2 British acts to break the US.
April 26, 201213 yr [** 03 Maroon 5 featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa - Payphone (NEW) Rapper Wiz Khalifa as opposed to violinist Wiz Khalifa? Great to see Rumour Has It still making good progress as well as Ellie going top 50 and Alex Clare moving up. The British Invasion continues :D Shame to see Calvin falling now, I knew I'd jinxed it when I suggested some weeks ago it'd do a Written In The Stars :( Gotye is really in for a massive run at the top I reckon, barring some unforeseen circumstances. Brilliant to see him finally getting there - and everyone thought the UK was late on that bandwagon :P
April 26, 201213 yr Finally Ellie goes top 50. Its only taken 18 weeks. LORD that was painful. Matching UK peak too. Weird to think that it was her airplay getting her into the higher positions at first, but now its actually hindering her as she's a fantastic 32 on pop songs!
April 26, 201213 yr #30 is a little disappointing for LP given that "The Catalyst" entered at #27. "Waiting For The End" stuck around forever as well and yet A Thousand Suns hasn't even gone platinum yet - maybe Living Things will be their first album to be bigger over here? :o
April 26, 201213 yr The new rule has practically made it impossible for any song to debut at #1 now..

"Waiting For The End" stuck around forever as well and yet A Thousand Suns hasn't even gone platinum yet - maybe Living Things will be their first album to be bigger over here? :o It would've outpeaked The Catalyst before they added Spotify, etc. to the chart. But I imagine Linkin Park will do really well on streaming, based off the fact that most other alternative artists do really well on there, so they could have a longer chart run, and maybe even climb in the future. Good to see Justin Bieber climbing!! :cheer: Edited April 26, 201213 yr by Eric_Blob
April 26, 201213 yr The new rule has practically made it impossible for any song to debut at #1 now.. Songs rarely did that anyway tbh.
April 26, 201213 yr The new rule has practically made it impossible for any song to debut at #1 now.. Gotye was only 30k behind Maroon 5 anyway, so even without the new rules he'd have been comfortably #1 with his airplay advantage. Edited April 26, 201213 yr by B.r.É
April 26, 201213 yr Gotye was only 30k behind Maroon 5 anyway, so even without the new rules he'd have been comfortably #1 with his airplay advantage. True but with this new streaming added in, even songs with 600k first week digitally will still not guarantee a secured #1. I think I am underestimating the streaming tbh
April 26, 201213 yr I'd estimate the streaming probably counts for about 20% of the chart now (and takes from digital sales, and not airplay). It must be higher than about 10% like a lot of us thought at first, since Justin Bieber would've got #1 is it was, so it must be quite a bit higher.
