Ida is unlucky to have come up against the mightyness that is my top 4 - same four tracks dominated my chart last week but Ida could well rise above a couple of the track. Don't think Ida will climb to no. 1 now but could get a new peak.

Well, it's certainly no 'Believe Again' which remains Delta's biggest hit in my chart and easily one of the biggest hits in my chart over the last 8 years. Success in Australia was always going to happen so it's not really a "good career move". Brian McFaddon somehow got to no. 1 in Australia a couple of years ago but this didn't provide him with any success elsewhere.

I like 'End Of Time' - it's certainly the second best single from the album but when you consider my fave ('Best Thing I Never Had') made #1 in my chart, and this is #32 that shows just how much I've liked the '4' era (ie; not much). 'I Am...Sasha Fierce' was such a phenomenal era for Beyonce, I can't help but think why they thought '4' would be considered a fantastic new era. :lol:

Hmm, I did likr this a couple of weeks back but I've just found myself losing interest in this track over the last week hence the fairly sharp drop.

 

Excellent as per! Not that surprised to see fun. at #1 but liking the run so far.

 

Climbers to no. 1 are quite rare for me, but I do think this is due to a period of finding myself liking a couple of songs a lot but both have grown on me. Carly Rae Jepsen benefitted from BJSC so entered my chart two months and continued climbing reflecting how much the song had grown on me. Likewise with fun. but they got released earlier than scheduled so I wanted to enter the track then. Again, it's climb to the top reflects how it's grown on me. Had it been in BJSC in January, there's a good chance this would've had another long run starting low and climbing to the top.

Me too, really like 'We Are Young' now. As mentioned above it's been a real grower track so it's not too surprising that it's climbed to the top of my chart.

Primadonna and Drive By on the climb! What is your top Marina single?

 

Marina's biggest hit to date is 'Hollywood' which peaked at no. 2 in my chart in early 2010. I can see 'Primadonna' and 'Drive By' sticking around for some time to come.

I've never thought this was something incredible. I like it more now than I did a week ago but not enough to make my top 20. Calvin Harris has released far better singles over the years. His 'Ready For The Weekend' era in 2009 was awesome. :dance:

Well, it's certainly no 'Believe Again' which remains Delta's biggest hit in my chart and easily one of the biggest hits in my chart over the last 8 years. Success in Australia was always going to happen so it's not really a "good career move". Brian McFaddon somehow got to no. 1 in Australia a couple of years ago but this didn't provide him with any success elsewhere.

 

I like 'End Of Time' - it's certainly the second best single from the album but when you consider my fave ('Best Thing I Never Had') made #1 in my chart, and this is #32 that shows just how much I've liked the '4' era (ie; not much). 'I Am...Sasha Fierce' was such a phenomenal era for Beyonce, I can't help but think why they thought '4' would be considered a fantastic new era.

 

Climbers to no. 1 are quite rare for me, but I do think this is due to a period of finding myself liking a couple of songs a lot but both have grown on me. Carly Rae Jepsen benefitted from BJSC so entered my chart two months and continued climbing reflecting how much the song had grown on me. Likewise with fun. but they got released earlier than scheduled so I wanted to enter the track then. Again, it's climb to the top reflects how it's grown on me. Had it been in BJSC in January, there's a good chance this would've had another long run starting low and climbing to the top.

 

Well I never expected that much, I thought this was the era that she'd completely flop. Clearly I know nothing about the Australian charts. :kink: A stellar career move then.

 

4 was a better than era than it originally appeared, I think, a lot of the tracks were growers and a couple of successes came out of it. But obviously nothing on the I Am.. Sasha Fierce era.

 

It's nice to see some climbers, I always tend to be doing this now, having climbers to #1. Tracks tend to hit me a week or so after I start listening to them, resulting in an occasional second-week rocket up my own chart. And yes, having Carly and fun around for a while meant they grew on me too, although I don't love them as much as you do.

It really does depend on the song and how much I'm loving different tracks each week. When fun. entered at #7 I really think it had a strong chance of going 07-01 but it missed out. Yet when Carly entered my chart at no. 34, I never thought she'd go anywhere near my top spot. :lol: So fun. didn't enter at no. 1 sort of by default because of the continued love for Emma Hewitt, and the increasing popularity of 'Call Me Maybe'. Let's see if my next chart topper is a climber - that'd be quite interesting. :o

Actually it got to no. 2 in Germany (made #1 on their iTunes though). It is quite a catchy dance track but for me it's spoilt slightly by the rent-a-rapper verse. Without the rap, I would've probably liked this more.

Oh right!!! :lol: Perhaps just the sheer buzz of a new Delta single was all that was needed to get that top 2 hit single. Shame though because as I mentioned, Brian McFadden got to no. 1 and that single was dreadful. Really do wonder what the Aussies were thinking that particular week. :lol:

 

I've really not taken to the '4' era. It started terribly, imo, with 'Run The World (Girls)' which for me is absolutely abysmal - no tune whatsoever, just noise (can't you tell I'm getting old :lol: ). 'BTINH' was a breath of fresh air in comparison, a smooth glossy pop/RnB ballad but again this also climbed to no. 1 in my chart so it did grow over a number of weeks. I saw the video to '1 + 1' and again was trying to work out where the tune was. 'Countdown' was another track that had zero impact on me. At least 'Love On Top' was ok - the second single from '4' to make my top 40 (albeit at #34 :kink: ). So 'End Of Time' just manages to get a higher peak but overall, very disappointing.

 

Maybe somewhat interestingly, I can quite a few climbers to no. 1 when I first started my chart in 2004. However, the compiling process wasn't very focused which meant some of my fave tracks had these rather erratic chart runs where as soon as they did climb to no. 1, they plummeted down the chart after that. I'd say 2006 was the year when I really started to take my chart "more seriously" ( :lol: ) and the tracks I liked the most were reflected in the chart runs. Yes, it does mean my chart might be slower paced than other charts but that's purely down to me liking many songs over a long period of time. :D

I don't think many people are charting this so I guess quite a few people just aren't aware of the song. Either that, or they just don't like it. I think it's a really nice pleasant track without being too sickly sweet.
