You have made some interesting comments and suggestions. You have our full assurances that we are discussing what you have raised to come to a solution that is workable. This won't be a quick process but that is because we are trying our hardest to come up with a solution and we have identified a few key things we can work on to address the concerns. We will discuss the possible solutions regardless of our personal feelings towards the solution.

 

 

Something we have quickly come to an agreement on is the addition of a new rule.

 

When the host sends a confirmation list to the moderators for vetoing there is to be NO country information in the list. The list can only contain artist and song details.

 

 

We feel that this is a good first step to removing the suspicion of the moderators giving moderators entries preferential treatment and to truly alleviate any concerns that we take into account who has sent an entry when making our decision. It is something we don't believe is necessary as we know we are impartial but it is something we are more than willing to do.

 

We would also like the GM's/Admin's who participate in BJSC to oversee the veto process and be able to report to you that we are being impartial and considering our decision to veto carefully and doing all we can to ensure that we are making the right decision. Both Dandy and Matt (Jester) have said they are happy to do this and Mark (RFC) also reads our threads so I imagine that he will also be willing to let you guys know.

 

 

Obviously this isn't the perfect solution and it most certainly isn't the final solution. Consider it a gesture of good faith so you know that we are taking this very seriously.

This is the thing Cal was referring to earlier. The points you raised are going to take time to fully debate properly and over the next month or so we will make little changes like this as we work towards the best solution for all.

I like the idea of an anonymous veto system - not that I ever suspected the mods would be more in favour of a track by a poster they prefer over another.

 

I know when I hosted last year, having no knowledge of what was expected, I sent all details to Phil who was really helpful during that confirmation stage. I felt like I was just bombarding poor Silas with PM's and thinking "he's gonna hate this!!!" :lol:

 

I didn't realise that the countries names weren't required. So at least I'm more aware now that if I ever host BJSC again, I'll have a much better idea of what's expected.

It was never expressly stated before if there should be more than just the Artist/Song info before as we've had months where we have been sent County, Artist, Song and Youtube info then months where we've wondered if half an artists name was missing. It's never been consistent and I'd say there have been slightly more month that we've not had country information.
