i'm sure we had one of these topics before, but nearly 18 months on our tastes would differ (and you're all now half-allowed to include "Bad Romance", celebrate GaGa goons x)

008 Madonna - Hollywood

Oh, leww. I was in the slow process of properly redoing my favourite songs, because I feel they've changed quite a bit from when I last did the list proper. I'm now down to my top 400 and it's getting too tough. :( I'll get back to you.

Warrior's Dance in your top 20 YES though. Most definitely the best thing The Prodigy have ever touched!

I feel like mine has changed since I did my list last summer but not significantly. So these will still be there or thereabouts. In italics is a song by the same artist that wouldn't be far off, maybe a less appreciated one:

Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies) My Body Is A Cage

The Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch

Eminem feat. Dido - Stan

Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams 2000 Lights Years Away

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

The Killers - Mr. Brightside

Linkin Park - In The End Pushing Me Away (Live at the Milton Keynes Bowl)

Linkin Park - What I've Done

The Lonely Island feat. T-Pain - I'm On A Boat Santana DVX

MGMT - Time To Pretend

Muse - Knights of Cydonia

My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade Thank You For The Venom

New Order - Blue Monday

Oasis - Live Forever D'You Know What I Mean?

Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger

Paramore - Misery Business Hello, Hello

The Rembrandts - I'll Be There For You

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now? Shoplifters Of The World Unite

Thirty Seconds to Mars - Kings & Queens

The White Stripes - Fell In Love With A Girl

I have no idea but it would include 'Umbrella', 'Everytime', 'Dirrty', 'Waterfalls' and probably embarrasingly 'Super Bass'.
I can think of loads of my favourite songs of all-time but can't pick out 20 and order them, it always seems to change. an awful lot of them are quite recent (not exactly 2012 & 2011 but more like 2004-onwards) so it'd probably be a bit embarassing.

Can't really think beyond that.

I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone admit to liking the Liz McClarnon version of Woman In Love before.

I rediscovered it about a year ago and had it on loop all day, I remember it clearly (as I was waiting all day anyway for Lucie Silvas' new song as a free download). It's my second most played song, after Girls Up.

As much as I detest music snobbery, it does perplex and worry me that THIS is the sort of music that the children + young teens of today regard as their absolute favourites. No offence though Joseph, I'm sure you're a lovely lad and all.

I thought having Britney's Toxic, Christina's Dirrty and Evanescence's My Immortal in my Top 10 was pretty embarrassing but this post hath saved me.

You mean Joseph? :P

Haha, each to their own I guess. B-)

OOPS. My Bad. Joseph yes, apologies.

To be honest I think it's probably fair to say that Joseph doesn't much represent the youth of today. Whatsoever.

Don't worry about it, one of my teachers called me Jake today... :P

I can't work out if that's a compliment or an insult.

It's neither. I'm frequently appalled by the music tastes displayed by 'the yoof' of today but then I'm also frequently appalled by yours, just for different reasons. :D

Haha, fair enough. :P I do have many people who can't stand my music anyway, it's not like most people's at school anyway.

Well I would be rather relieved if that were the case.

J names are too common. You've JACK to contend with too. Get rid.

Love seeing 'Rapture' so high in your list, Lew, would definitely make my top 100. As would these from Charlie's:

Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies) My Body Is A Cage

Eminem feat. Dido - Stan

Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams 2000 Lights Years Away

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

I'm not a Green Day fan at all but 'Boulevard...' is just a stunning song.

I was actually musing on doing a whole top 100 countdown, but CBA. Helpfully, though, I have my top 20 to hand:
